Summary : "I'm sorry, I didn't hear you complaining about it."

Jack you can't take a hint, can you? (rough draft)

Today was their off day. They don't get off days much, probably once every long years. Ushering the coming of seasons and paving the next seasons' way is a long overdue process that takes a giant chunk of their time. Only when Mother Nature was in a good mood would she oversee the weather and climate and let the Big Four rest and laze for exactly 24 hours.

The first time they spent the off day sleeping. As immortals, their bodies don't need sleep, but their mind does. They hijacked a really cool penthouse somewhere in New York and had their feet tangled and hair overlapping one another, wasting the whole day.

Sometimes they spent it by quizzing each other or playing ice breaker games over and over. One time they tried to make a schedule of activities but they all failed to keep it due to conflicting interests.

Most of the time they just sleep the day off.

Today, Merida had Rapunzel out to get some girl talk. The girls have been spending a lot time with each other for the last few years. Consequently, it led to the boys have their own quality time.

The two boys were in a summer villa of some rich dude with two wives and three kids each. The whole building was empty save for the house caretakers that had already done their share of cleaning.

Locking the door with ice in silence, Jack moves closer to the King sized bed and let his head fall. Hiccup sat down at the edge of the mattress, closing his eyes and absently listening to Toothless playing with the heap of orange leaves on the back lawn.

It was just a routine. Nothing different at all. None of them had said anything after discussing their recent favorite past time but then Jack just had to —

"Are you secretly in love with me?" he blurted out. If Hiccup had picked up the glass of milk he spotted in the living room downstairs he would have spilled it on himself.

"What-What the hell?"

"Merida, she, uh," he stammered. "She told me... that-that you've been talking to her about me. She said you, uh, admired me?" Jack cleared his throat, that sounded too much like a question. "That you, uh, care about me." Okay, that was just weak.

Hiccup groaned.

"And I'm not sure how to respond because I thought she was your crush."

"Couldn't you have said it without saying 'love'? No, man, Merlin! I am not — I-I like like her. Still."

"Oh, good, I was confused about how to handle this cause I was still figuring out how I feel about Zel and I was pretty thrown back when —"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, hang on, you have feelings for Rapunzel?!"

"Shit. I shouldn't have said that."
