The Grape Juice Mayhem

Chapter 1: Let's Play a Game

The bus rocked from side to side as Class 1-A traveled through familiar roads of the forest training camp. During the ride, many students took the time to daydream or rest. The aloof, pretty-boy, Todoroki was an example. Then there were those who chattered, like Iida, Sero, and Kirishima, their voices rising and blending together in cacophony. Some absorbed themselves in music, such as Jiro and Kaminari, while others drifted into their own thoughts, like Midoriya and Yaoyorozu who busied herself with reading. And so it went on that way, all of them together and separate, feeling all the same turns and bumps until several minutes later when they finally reached their destination. Guided by the emphatic voice of their President, Class 1-A grabbed their belongings and exited the vehicle in an orderly fashion.

Mineta was the last one out. He covered his face with an arm as soon as his feet hit the ground. Gone were the days of wintry light kissing coldly upon his face. Now in the heat of August, Mineta walked on the tinder of the forest floor, dreading the moment he must leave its dense protective canopy and walk the last mile beneath the unrelenting sun. The world was painted vivid by its rays, like a new painting with still wet oils. No longer was it gently warming his body, bringing life back to cold muscles; now it burned unprotected skin in minutes. After the light clothing of June and July the full body smocks and hats were unwelcomed, but preferable to redness and pain. In this long month the sun did not bring smiles, instead he marched on, head-bowed under its angry glare.

He didn't expect anything less since he was participating in U.A.'s summer camp training. Along with his eager, cheerful classmates and their rivals, 1-B, Mineta followed Eraserhead and Vlad King to the cabins. Besides the encounter with the League of Villains, the strenuous hero courses, and boring character developments, Mineta was somewhere in the background at most of these events, unattended to, uncared for, and unimportant. He was a 'side character' as the hot-tempered Bakugo would call it.

As a 'side character', his role was to observe and report, and occasionally become the comic relief if Kaminari didn't take the spotlight from him. And that was OK. He was indifferent about it. There were just times when it got really boring. With all the knowledge he had about his classmates, some fun under the sun was needed. After all, he was known for his outlandish ideas, so why not test them on his classmates? Playing the role of devious match-maker or instigator sounded interesting and what better time to do it than having everyone at one place? No one would be the wiser. It was Mineta's turn to narrate the show, all for his amusement and enjoyment. And it would all begin tonight.

Later that evening

Late night gatherings were a common occurrence for students of 1-A. It was child's play to get them all together in one area; all he needed to do was ask if they wanted to play a game. He knew the first to bite would be Pinky.

"Ashido-san," Mineta called to her, a smile already forming on his round face. Pale yellow horns pointed at his direction as the fluffy pink-head looked at him, curious.

"Yes?"

"I was wondering if you had any good ideas for a game…you know…something fun we could do before we all get busy with training," he inquired.

Mina cocked her head to the side with raised brows. She eyed the room to find Sero and Kaminari playing video games while Deku, Iida, Todoroki, and Bakugo (after a bet was made that he would lose to Todoroki), played 'Uno'. The rest kept themselves occupied doing other boyish things. Her hesitation appeared when a shrug followed after Mineta's suggestion.

"Hmm, it looks like everyone is busy. Besides, what makes you suddenly interested in group activities?" Ashido and her gal pals looked at him, raising their brows suspiciously.

Mineta kept his cool and smiled. He expected this. "I remember you mentioning a game when we first moved into the dorms, but everyone got distracted so we never got to play. It really sucked too because it sounded interesting and fun to me," the smaller hero-in-training feigned disappointment, looking down at his feet to appear convincing.

Ashido's horns flexed at Mineta's reference. "You mean 'truth or dare'? That game…?!" she said with unexpected excitement. Mina felt the stares of her peers on her back as if to tell her to let the idea go. "I mean…why do you want to play it now?"

A smirk traced Mineta's lips unseen by the others. He just needed to push a little more. "Well, because I thought now would be a good time to do it since we have people from the other class to play too? Isn't it more fun if there's a large group?" he readily responded, eyes moving behind Pinky to Kendo, Shiozaki, and Tokage – three girls from class 1-B.

Ashido's notably long lashes batted excitedly at them, the idea becoming more and more fun by the second, reaching the point where Mineta wanted her to be.

Before Kendo, Shiozaki, and Tokage could argue, Ashido was already making her way around the living room chanting 'truth or dare' to the rest of her classmates. The fresh-picked hero-in-training watched in amusement as the pink-head gathered the flock to the middle of the room. Mina Ashido was sociable and eager to engage in social situations; she'd shown to become very upset when denied an opportunity to be at a gathering, so it wasn't difficult to play that to Mineta's advantage. The tricky part was separating Pinky from Creati and Earphone Jack. The first was too smart and the latter hated his guts, so he planned ahead.

As if on cue, Yaoyorozu and Jiro came from the kitchen into the living room after hearing all the commotion. The sweet aroma of cookies followed them along with the talented baker, Sato, and shiny hero-in-training Aoyama.

"What's going on?" Yaoyorozu asked by nature as she took a bite of the chocolate dessert.

"I'm not playing that stupid fucking game!" Bakugo shouted, pinning the cards close to his chest. Yaoyorozu and her crew turned to the blonde instinctively and watched him glare at Ashido menacingly, telling her to leave or else. Midoriya and Iida both made poor attempts at separating the two, but Ashido was stubborn and didn't back down, calling Bakugo a 'kill joy' and other such names to further anger him. Mineta expected this and thus came prepared.

To deter Bakugo from storming off like an angry boy that he was, it was best to play on his pride.

"Perhaps Bakugo is afraid to share his secrets," Aoyama chimed in unexpectantly, more so by making a sassy comment known to infuriate the shaggy blonde even more. Like Mineta, Aoyama was pushed to the side, an 'extra', so joining forces was no trouble at all.

"What the fuck did you just say Sparkles?!"

"Uno."

Bakugo paused. His eyes slithered directly to the half and half bastard sitting across from him.

"What. The. Fuck. You cheating son of a bitch – I wasn't ready!"

Todoroki remained seated, unfazed by the insults. He glanced up at Bakugo who was now standing close to the dual-quirk user with a clenched fist.

Now this was unexpected, Mineta exchanged looks with Aoyama, who was sweating nervously.

"It is not my responsibility if you get distracted. The game continues. And I just won," Todoroki calmly remarked, maintaining eye contact with his hot-headed opposite.

Sparks. Small red sparks emitted from Bakugo's palms. The sound of ignited flames and smell of burnt wood filled the air as everyone closely watched what would happen next. Deku and Iida feared the worst, preparing to step in if a fight ensued. Yaoyorozu, concerned for everyone's safety, moved forward without a thought. By the grace of God or a force unknown to all, Bakugo distanced himself from Todoroki.

"Let's fucking play 'truth or dare' two-face. I'm not going to sleep on a loss."

Mineta, along with the others, let out a deep sigh of relief, but for reasons far different from the rest of his classmates. Without a moment's notice, Ashido was in-between the two cheering in excitement.

"This is not a good idea!" Momo interrupted, finding her voice to speak up.

Bakugo rolled his eyes. He didn't have time for this bullshit. No one had any idea how hard it was for him not to punch half and half in the mouth. "Listen Ponytail, if I don't play this game with Icyhot and win, then you'll have a lot more shit to worry about. If you're too much of a pussy, then stay out of it. Pinky, what're the stakes?"

Ashido, unprepared with an answer, subconsciously eyed Mineta who was more than happy to respond in her place.

"Tequila!" he announced, glad to have the spotlight once again. After receiving confused looks from his classmates, he explained. "All participants must take Tequila shots if he or she refuses to answer the truth or perform the dare."

"How do we know if someone is lying? And where the hell are you going to get alcohol? You're smaller than a twelve-year-old," Kaminari asked, seemingly interested in the game. He resisted the urge to look at Jiro from across the room.

Mineta chuckled. "I already have the drink. As for the other part, if our VP agrees to it, she can create lie detectors."

"I refuse!" Momo immediately replied. Games that included alcoholic beverages were a terrible idea and the fact that one of her peers already had one in possession was concerning. "We shouldn't be playing under such circumstances. It's dangerous, illegal, and the consequences of getting caught are severe."

Iida nodded in agreement. He was about to voice his opinion but was unexpectedly cut off by Aoyama.

"Ou vey, like the time you went off to save Bakugo? You put your lives at risk, did you not? Drinking amongst people you know and trust possibly couldn't be any worse than outright breaking the law."

God damn Aoyama, you're really taking this seriously. "Can anyone argue against that?" Mineta pointed, waiting on Momo and Iida for an answer. When both said nothing, the point was clear.

"It still doesn't make it right. I know what we did was wrong, but we had good reasons for doing it," Deku chimed in.

Bakugo scoffed. "This arguing is fucking pointless. It's a game. It's just alcohol. This shit is nothing compared to what we've done. And, while I have a say in it, I'm not losing to him. There are no teachers, no one to stop us. The only way we get caught is if you dumbasses snitch. Now, are we going to play or not, Icyhot?" he turned to Todoroki for a response.

Todoroki wasn't one to fall prey to taunts nor was he the type to entertain them. Today wasn't the day to start. He had to admit, however, that he did not win the game of 'Uno' on fair terms, although his point was still valid. No one said to stop so he continued. He didn't regret winning. It was his first time playing the game and the victory felt nice, especially since it was over Bakugo. If he could obtain another win, why wouldn't he? He took a quick glance at the Vice President before returning to his thoughts. She was the reason. These past months, Momo Yaoyorozu was at the center of his thoughts and he couldn't explain why. She was intelligent, versatile, and a great pianist. Whenever there was a debate, he would find her logic to be sound and reasonable so Todoroki was naturally inclined to take her side. This time, her argument was valid too, but so was Aoyama's and it was clear who made the stronger point. Yaoyorozu was an objective girl so imagining her upset over his decision seemed unlikely, right?

After contemplating for several minutes, Todoroki finally made his choice. "Sure," he said. "Are we using lie detectors?" he asked his raven-haired classmate nonchalantly, earning a startled look from her. It was a sad excuse to make eye contact, but he wanted to see her reaction despite knowing Yaoyorozu was firm on her decisions. He didn't expect her to agree.

"If it makes the game go quicker," voiced Momo. On the outside, Momo displayed confidence but internally she knew the switch was uncharacteristically fickle of her. The look he gave felt like he was telepathically telling her to change her mind, to help him, and support his questionably competitive behavior. She didn't know why the fire and ice user had such an effect on her and it was frustrating.

His expression gave no indication of such feelings, but Todoroki was surprised. He was certain of her actions. Maybe he was being too overconfident? He knew Yaoyorozu well…enough… so why was he still so curious about her?

During the entirety of the conversation, Jiro was quiet. She had no intention of getting involved in a stupid game with a stubborn, temperamental blonde and a perverted grape-head. It made it worse that Kaminari showed interest in the game. He was an idiot. There should be no reason an idiot would rile her up like this. She figured Yaomomo would handle the situation. Yaomomo was the best at these things, or so Jiro believed.

The results were unexpected. While Jiro stood in stunned silence, Mineta was yapping away with his merry plans. Deku, Iida, and the three girls from 1-B were as equally surprised.

"I think we should go now," Kendo managed to say after witnessing a downturn of events. Shiozaki and Tokage nodded in unison in support of their class rep. The trio's escape plan was near flawless until Momo appeared before them.

"Kendo-san," Momo's voice fluttered to the ginger's ears as a soft plea for help. "Would you, Shiozaki-san, and Tokage-san like to help me set up the lie detection equipment?"

Upon hearing the request, Shiozaki and Tokage smiled at Momo and then at their class rep. Their curve lips betrayed their true intentions that did not fool Kendo's perceptive eye. The two were going to ditch her and Kendo knew it.

"Leaving now would look really bad on us," the ginger was quick to say. "We should help."

Shiozaki and Tokage maintained their demeanor and shook their heads in blatant disagreement. "As class rep, we believe it is your responsibility to represent 1-B," Shiozaki began. "Therefore, we shall leave this duty in your hands and trust you to succeed," Tokage finished.

Deku and Iida's interaction with the opposite sex was limited to the females in their class. As such, they were accustomed to a high level of consideration that clearly was not reciprocated by others of their same rank. Witnessing the exchange between Kendo and her classmates put things into perspective as the two boys watched them leave.

"Bitches!"

Momo, Kendo, Deku, and Iida turned to find Jiro amongst them.

"Forget about those useless bitches – I'll help the two of you," Jiro candidly expressed. She still had no idea why Yaomomo changed her mind, but Jiro trusted her friend and that was enough to hold off the questions for now.

"Kyoka!" Momo nudged the musician's arm. Kyoka grumbled and nudged the girl back. Momo glanced at Kendo to gauge her response and was relieved to find the ginger smiling.

"I'm fine," Kendo said, unconvincingly. She wouldn't admit it out loud, but she expected this to happen. The aching feeling in her chest shouldn't have been a surprise.

Iida chimed in, using the situation as leverage to change subjects. "Yaoyorozu-san," Iida cleared his throat. It was time to address the elephant in the room and his VP expected nothing less from him.

"I know what you're going to say. I want to ask if you have any better ideas, Iida-kun?" Momo started first.

"It doesn't have to be this game. They can compete doing something else."

"Like what?"

"Tag."

"There's not enough space in the cabin."

"Cards Against Humanity."

"The game requires more than two players."

"Shogi."

"Bakugo wouldn't have the patience for that."

Damn. Iida pinched the bridge of his nose to save him from saying something stupid. Yaoyorozu had an answer for each of his suggestions and coming up with new ideas on the spot wasn't exactly his forte. There had to be better options.

"Hey, I heard you guys were drinking tonight!" a familiar voice called above them. They all looked up to find gloved hands waving down at them from the balcony.

Hagakure's entrance was the perfect distraction Momo needed to leave with Kendo and Kyoka. She figured Iida was the best person to explain the situation to the Invisible Girl.

"I'm not participating in any illegal activity!" Iida corrected. "How did you even find out?"

Hagakure pointed to her left where Sato appeared in sight.

"I see."

Asui and Ochaco followed after Sato and waved at the two. Deku didn't notice the gleam in his eyes when he saw the brunette. He thought she had fallen asleep. He was glad to be wrong.

Ochaco ran down the flight of stairs in excitement. Deku met her halfway with a huge smile on his face. He was greeted with a similar expression as they bridged the distance between them.

"Hey!" "Hello." Both welcomed each other in unison. They laughed having realized their mistake and laughed after that for laughing at their mistake.

"The two share a common sense of humor," Sato flatly remarked as he, Asui, and Hagakure joined Iida's company.

The President arched his brows in wonder. "Uh, am I missing something?"

"We're being ignored. Right now, we do not exist," Asui answered.

"…But we're standing right here," Iida reasoned, pointing at them and himself.

"When you're in love nothing else matters," Hagakure sighed deeply, clasping her palms together.

"…Love?..." Iida repeated slowly as if the word was so foreign to him. "Love!" he yelled within seconds of realization. His eyes locked on Deku and Ochaco. "Since when?"

Sato shook his head. "Maybe participating in the game may teach you some things, class rep."

The Game

It was late when it all began. It took a while to gather everyone together, but when Mineta counted all participants present, he immediately started by instructing them to sit in a circle. Starting at a 12 o'clock position going clockwise sat Todoroki, Ashido, Sato, Uraraka, Sero, Hagakure, Kirishima, Kendo, Midoriya, Jiro, Bakugo, Asui, Ojiro, Yaoyorozu, and Kaminari. Mineta and Aoyama played the hosts while Iida, Shoji, Tokoyami, and Koda sat as spectators. Each had their own shot glass in front of them. Portable polygraph equipment the size of a blood pressure monitor was strapped to their left arm. It measured heart rate, pulse, respiration, and skin conductivity to detect irregularities if they provided false information or answers.

The rules were simple – Player A asks Player B 'truth or dare'. Player B must choose either option. If Player B fails to tell the truth or perform the dare, Player B must take a shot. When finished, Player B becomes Player A and selects a random person to become Player B by spinning the Tequila bottle, placed at the center, to select the next target. The game ends when the bottle is empty or a participant successfully completes three truths and three dare's, whichever comes first.

The participants, except for Bakugo and Todoroki, were apprehensive. Mineta was eager to see how the game would play out since the alcohol was specially concocted for them, courtesy of Camie's glamour quirk. His foolish classmates would be victims to his depraved pleasures and they were clueless about it.

"Are we just going to sit here and stare at each other? Fuck it, I'll start the damn game," Bakugo complained and reached for the bottle, pointing it straight at Todoroki.

"Hey, that's not how this works!" Mina glared.

"Shut up Pinky! This is between me and Icyhot cheating bastard. You're all extras who decided to play last minute. Don't get in my way!"

Mineta and Aoyama knew better than to stop the explosive blonde so they said nothing.

Todoroki assumed something like this would happen so he wasn't surprised. Bakugo was like a book, forgotten in the corner of an old wooden shelf, doing nothing but collecting dust and debris. Todoroki knew his story front to back and if he was ever bored, he would grab the book, flip through a couple pages, and throw it back in the shelf. He was a boring book with no twist and turns, no plot to keep him entertained, and was completely predictable. Todoroki was sure to finish this game with a win.

"Truth or dare, Icyhot?" came the question.

Easy. Todoroki would interchange between truth and dare until he completed three of each. "Dare," he answered.

Bakugo grinned widely as if he was expecting the response. His bright red eyes narrowed into thin slits and remained fixated on the fire and ice user like a predator ready to kill its prey.

"Your hair pisses me off. Shave it, all of it."
