Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto or this couple.

Summary: He didn't know how to love, he had forgotten how. Then, she came along.

He was lost. Lost in the darkness.

Under his cold and icy exterior, he felt betrayed. Betrayed that he trust the weasel that brought about the deaths of the Uchiha clan, making it extinct had it not been for him.

He felt weak. Weak that he couldn't bring about the revenge on his elder brother that slaughtered the clan, and then tortured him, making him watch it over and over.

He felt alone in the world. He was alone. He was hesitant to allow others into his heart.

He didn't know how to love, he had forgotten how

Then, she came along. With her porcelain skin, cherry blossom hair, and emerald eyes, he found her difficult to ignore.

She fought persistently for his attention, continuing long after the others had given up.

Bit by bit, she disassembled the wall he had put up. Slowly, she taught him to love.

Then, he left. She felt betrayed; he was her teammate.

She felt weak; she couldn't stop the man she loved from leaving.

He sought power in all the wrong places.

She trained under the legendary Sanin and Fifth Hokage Tsunade; this, obviously, a better choice than that snake Orochimaru.

It took her about three years, but she finally did it. She got strong enough to bring him home.

Konoha welcomed him back with open arms, although some didn't believe he deserved to be welcomed back so easily or the cherry blossom that had captured his interest.

Only now, as she stared up at him with her big emerald eyes and a shy smile on her soft face, that she was, and always has been, the light to his darkness.
