Her

She stood in the rain. Face to the sky, eyes closed with a small smile playing on her lips. After standing there for a few minutes, she lowered her head, opened her eyes, revealing icy grey/blue eyes. She checked the time on her phone. Then ran. She ran with a big smile on her face. The rain hitting her clothes, the rain drenching her hair. As she ran down the road, she laughed. The meadow far behind her. She ran by his house. She saw him, sitting on his porch, obviously waiting for her. He saw her and stood up. She smiled and backed away. He stared at her with wide eyes, mouthing 'no.' She shrugged, mouthing 'sorry,' and started to run again. He stared after her and walked back in his house with a sad smile. She continued to run. When his house came into view she ran faster. Really excited with her choice. She ran up to the gate and saw him. He was sitting on his porch steps. His eyes casted down at his feet. Looking like he just got rejected. She opened the gate, it squeaked and he looked up. His grass green eyes sparked alive. She ran into his arms. They held each other, each with a smile of happiness. When he pulled away, he put his forehead against hers. "It's you who I love." She whispered and kissed him. He pulled away for air and said, "I love you too." And kissed her again in the rain.

Him

He sat on the porch chair. The thunder clapped like African drums. The lightning flashed, as if teasing him with its beauty. Hi listened to the rain patter against the sidewalk like the little infant feet. After he closed his eyes he heard feet pounding on the sidewalk, disturbing the peace. He opened his eyes and saw her. He leapt up with excitement and took a step toward her. She stepped back with an apologetic smile on her usually happy face. He mouthed 'no' figuring it out. She mouthed 'sorry' and ran towards his house. He took another step forward but stopped. He watched her run farther from his eyes and grasp. After she disappeared entirely he walking back to his house. 'Anything that makes her happy makes me happy.' He thought with a sad smile.

Him

He walked onto his porch. He stood at his railing, looking for her. 'She's going to choose him, I just know it!' He moved to his front porch steps. Then the thunder cracked like a whip being snapped at a lion. The lightning flashed like a python snapping at a mouse. He closed his eyes and clasped his hands together and bowed his head. He listened to the rain pound against his hair. After awhile he heard the gate creak. His head shot up and he saw her. She smiled and he leapt up and she ran into his arms. They held each other for what felt like eternity. When he pulled away he pressed his forehead against hers. "It is you who I love." When she said that she kissed him and he felt happiness like no other. After he pulled away he said, "I love you too." And kissed her again in the rain.
