All it Takes is a Small Shrub and a Short Temper

Chapter 1- Small Favors

A/n- Really short, trying to get my bearings here, basically, it starts in The Blind Banker and continues through canon, with extra tidbits tossed in (like cases John doesn't blog on, bits of history, character studies... things like that). The Shrub Incident is what inspired the title, and I may type that up as a side story, but right now, not really. I've put it under Lestrade and Sherlock, but that is not the pairing! The pairings, as stated, are Mystrade, Johnlock, and Gregson/OC when finalized.

Enjoy!

"Oh for fuck's sake." Click. "What?"

"Uh, Tab, it's Greg."

"That's nice. What do you want?"

"Dimmock's on a case."

"Bully for Dimmock."

"Sherlock is on it with him."

"…." Tabia blows air slowly through her nose in the form of a sigh "Damnit, Greg, I want to enjoy my leave for once."

"I'm sorry, but Dimmock's called 5 times and I can't get out of here. You can deal with Holmes better than he can-"

"Barely, Lestrade, barely. I threw a bloody plant at him last time!"

"Please, Gregson!"

There was a very long pause.

"You so owe me for this."

"Thank you, Tab."

"Don't thank me yet. There might be a shrub too close at hand."

Lestrade snorted into the phone, "Hopefully it won't come to that. You haven't seen him with John Watson yet. He's practically angelic."

"I really doubt that. What are you stuck at that you have to send me in for anyway?"

"Court," he said distastefully. "The Taylor case, you remember."

"What? The one with the tea strainer and that absurd butterfly-?"

"Yes. Don't remind me. Ask Dimmock where Sherlock is. Help the poor bastard out. I'll buy you a drink after this is all over."

"Git!"

Twenty minutes later she was showered, dressed and on her way to an address provided by a very agitated Dimmock. The new home address was a 221 B Baker Street (his old landlord, she remembered, hadn't appreciated some of Holmes' habits).

She seriously hoped the man had gone frolicking into danger, so she wouldn't have to deal with him too soon.

Worst holiday ever.

Tabia told the cabbie to take the longest route possible.
