A/N My own writer's block this week lead to a blocked road and made me think what next?

Fallen trees blocked the road forward and Sam had passed nothing for miles and it was nearing sunset. Maybe a map in the glove box had a solution. Yes there was the marking for a campsite a few miles back. Going backwards instead of forward he'd done a lot of that since losing Dean.

Sam had seriously considered trying to bring Dean back but Bobby had said to let people go when it was time.

Crowley had said "Sorry Moose. Wish I could help… Looks like you are well and truly on your own" which meant Dean wasn't in Hell.

And now part 2

SPSPSPSP

Sam had gotten the tent out of the trunk and set up camp. Now he lay back on the Impala to watch the stars come out.

Dean wasn't in Hell, or on Earth as best he could tell and since Cas was gone as well that left Heaven. Sam was kind of jealous. Jess, Jo, Ellen, Ash, Pamela, Dad, and Mom were all long gone along with countless others. Now he'd lost Bobby and Dean as well.

He glanced at the spot beside him where Dean had lain across the years.

Hunting was dangerous solo. Should he stop? Could he?

SPSPSPSP

A/N after rewatching the Finale closely there is no indication that Sam should have any suspicion that Dean isn't 'safe' in Heaven after all he and Cas vanished together and Dean was shocked to find out where he actually wound up after Cas explained it.

Please review and let me know what you think. Is this possibly Sam's mental state as we head into season 8?
