Flutter.Pause.Flutter.Flutterflutterflutterflutter…Pause.

Angel lifted his head in confusion from its position on Spike's. He looked around searching for the fly or bee that disturbed his sleep. Not seeing, hearing, or sensing anything he laid his head back to try to go back to sleep.

Flutterflutterflutter.

His head immediately shot up again, annoyed now. Still not finding the tiny annoying insect, he looked down to ask Spike if he felt it too. Spike was fast asleep and the movement of his eyes behind his eyelids indicated he was dreaming.

Angel stared, transfixed by the sooty Spike lashes that would flutter like the wings of a fairy everytime his eyes moved. He laid his head back down and waited.

Flutterflutterflutter.

He giggled but immediately stopped, not wanting to wake Spike up. Amused by this new sensation, he kept his head still again and waited for the flutter. Giggle. Angel inwardly laughed at himself for being so silly and scolded himself to stop, but he kept still anyway.

He carefully wrapped his arms around Spike, kissed his forehead, and breathed a sigh of contentment, still giggling occasionally from the first butterfly kisses he's ever received in his two hundred something odd years of existence.
