Always with You.
Author's note: This is yet another tribute fanfic to farewell another amazing actor. This time, unfortunately, Alan Young, who was the only(at the time) voice actor of Scrooge McDuck for many years, has died on Thursday the 19th of this month at the age of 96, not able to make it for his 97th birthday in November. I only found out yesterday, which is very saddening.
I don't own Disney.
Mickey Mouse was placing tribute flowers to Genie at the graveyard, shedding a couple of tears, for it's been two years since the passing of a great friend. The very thought of friends and family passing away was heart-breaking for him, though he tried his best to stay calm.
Once he was finished, he made to leave when at a short distance, he noticed Donald's uncle, Scrooge who was standing at on empty spot between two graves, well, sitting now with a piece of paper and a quill in his hand, apparently writing something. Curious, Mickey tip-toed closer to hear what his elder friend was doing. What he heard gave him a pause.
Scrooge was writing a letter, and speaking outloud to memorize his own words.
"To Dear Donald, and my fabulous boys-Huey, Dewey and Louie.
When our dear friend Genie died, not only it was so sad, it also got me thinkin' that, as I'm getting old, perhaps sometime soon, my time will be up and I will no longer be here for yeh's. In the passing of our family in the past, I fear that it may be too late to give out my inheritence if I danna do this now."
"So, in passing, your inheritence from me lads, well be all me money, my house, and my valuble items for you to do whatever yeh want. Just remember, boys, even though I will one day be gone, I'll always be with you, and do our young friends Mickey, Goofy, Minnie, and Donald, your sweetheart, Daisy. If yeh find this letter, than that means that I'm gone, but remember this, I'll always love yeh.
-Uncle Scrooge." Scrooge finished the letter, then noticed that he was shedding tears, then quickly wiped them away. Even the thought of this was making him sad.
It was also making Mickey sad too, making him turn away in tears and walk away, but he paused. The thought of leaving Scrooge alone right now was a frightening thought, as he realised that, no matter how much people try to protect each other and those they loved, no one can predict death.
So Mickey knew what he had to do. He was going to make sure that Scrooge gets home safely and checked up for a doctor, just in case.
However, he knew that one thing was clear. Scrooge was not only family to Donald or the triplets, he was family to Mickey and everyone else as well.
A/N: Not the best story, but I'm so sad that Alan Young is gone, and I feel deeply for his family and friends. Another Disney Legend passed on to a better place.
R.I.P Alan. You will always be remembered.
