AN:
Hi guys, I'm back. I haven't posted anything in like a month. Sorry. This is a rather short one shot, and unless there is popular demand, I most likely will not be making this a two shot. Although, if enough people ask for another chapter ( it can just be one person, although the more that ask, the sooner it will be done)
Also, I now have a poll going on at my page, over what fanfiction I should write. I have a few options, but you can also just PM me a non included option, and I might add it! Have fun reading, and don't forget to review! (just because it is a one-shot doesn't mean I do not value and love your reviews!)
The rain poured down as I ran after the pre-kishin, Soul, growing heavy in my blood-splattered hands. Turning the corner, I was forced to face the facts… I had lost him. I felt myself slowly sink to the ground, hands clenching, trying not to scream out in frustration.
"Hay Maka, just look for him with your soul, its no big deal." Soul practically shouted to me from his scythe form.
Sighing, I focused. Slowly I started shifting through the souls that surrounded us. After a minute or so, I spotted the red blur.
Quickly I leapt up from my sitting position, and started to navigate through the rain-darkened streets of whatever stupid little town we had been sent to.
"Hey, no need to thank me." a sarcastic voice told me. Completely ignoring him, I continued to follow the red soul of the pre-kishin.
"Why didn't you just look for his soul when he ran, I mean that makes a whole lot more sense than getting lost." He spoke again.
Sighing again, I rounded a corner, avoiding a huge puddle in the process.
" I wanted to see if I could do this without using my stupid gifts. Every other miester doesn't have or use gift, and I do. I wanted to see if I could do what they do, but I obviously couldn't. I'm no good at this, I should just qui-" "Don't you dare say quit." Soul growled at me.
"Is this about what those stupid girls said to you a couple days ago?" he said in a softer tone.
" Don't know what you're talking about." I mumbled, knowing full well what he was getting at.
"Maka, you are an awesome meister. So what if you use gifts. That's why you got them, to use them. Don't think you're useless. Your not, so quit convincing yourself that you are. You are the strongest, smartest, prettiest miester I have ever known. Besides, you don't always use those gifts; you only use them when you need to. So stop letting those girls who are so delusional that they think you're a bad meister. You aren't, got it? You are not a bad meister. You are the best damn meister I have ever seen. So stop doubting yourself. Its uncool!"
As he said this, I began to realize that what he said was true. The part that I was the best, and prettiest meister that he had ever seen was a total lie, but the rest of it was kind of true.
I had gifts and although I don't use them all the time, when I did I was damn good at what I did.
With that boost of confidence, I found that I had a lot more energy than before, and I surged forward, following the red light of the pre-kishin. I came to a stop out side of an old run down abandoned building. With out hesitation I kicked the rotting moldy wood door, sending splinters and large shards of decaying wood everywhere as I entered the building.
Quickly, before the monster could turn from its fresh meal, I launched into the air, and pushed soul through the disgusting flesh like warm butter. As soon as Soul and I landed, the kishin disappeared and in its place was a glowing red sphere.
Transforming, Soul reached out and slurped the sold down grinning, he turned to me, "Told you that you are the best meister." I smiled, glad that I believed him.
