The Story of Dav
I sat in the corner of my cave, tears running down my dirty cheeks. Why? Why had mother named me Dav? At first, she had done it as a joke, but it quickly grew out of control. I knew exactly why she named me Dav, she was drunk. My mother Dave was a bit of a character. You see, everyone in this community is named Dave. Mother is Dave, father is Dave, that creepy man offering candy to kids on the street corner is Dave, and that cat is Dave. We are all Dave. EXCEPT ME!
At first I was ridiculed by my peers, but it quickly escalated to banishment. Dav'e, my pet rock is my only friend. But sometimes even he refuses to speak to me…
And my love, Davina… The woman I loved…. Is dead.
But I drew her on a rock to keep me company.
Sometimes I cry myself to sleep at night as local toddlers call me a "Dav," and throw sunglasses at me. "Dav," has become a sort of curseword nowadays.
Crazy kids…
I hear the voices, but Dav'e says it's all in my head. They speak to me… Tell me things… Like to hump that rock.
Dav'e had me arrested for sexual assault on a rock, which is a felony. I spent years rotting in jail. I grew a beard and an afro.
After I was released, I was once again forced to live in solitude, but I had been broken beyond repair…
My cave was empty now. Dav'e had left me, and somehow so had Davina's grave.
But one day, I dared ventured out of my cave, as my food supply was nearly gone and I saw the most beautiful thing; A potato.
It seemed to speak to me. "Dav, I love you," "Dav, love me LOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEE MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
I fell to my knees, and weeped.
I weeped out of pure joy.
I had found a new meaning in life; Batata.
We were married at once. Batata and I were deeply in love. She was 3 months preggers the day after we were married. But the farmer said I had stolen Batata, and I was again arrested. Potato theft is also a felony.
After my imprisonment, I returned to my wife, only to find er tattered and rotten. I had found love again and it was torn from me. My life became meaningless…
I died of a broken heart.
