Eh... it's alright. I've been thinking about this idea for about a week or two now, and I'm definitely happy to finally get it down and finished. Please tell me what you think. Yes, I know, I'm an amateur poet, so go a little easy on me :).

Oh and btw, I was imagining Mai as the female bird, and Naru as the male, in case you can't figure that out.

Peck peck peck

Goes the bird looking for food

Searching day

Searching night.

A lonely bird

Left behind

By migration

The small bird finds

A small chunk

Of ice.

Sitting

Waiting

Unknown.

Peck peck peck

She chips away the ice

Slowly

Slowly

What is inside

Slowly comes alive.

A miracle

Inside a chunk of ice

A second bird

Frozen

Alive

Waiting.

Peck peck peck

Comes from inside

The chunk of ice

The bird inside

Knows

He knows the other

Of his kind

Is here to help.

Beak meets beak

The ice chips

Peck peck peck

The two birds

Work steadily

Chipping away for hours.

Soon

He will be free.

Free to fly

Free to live

Free to love.

The 12th hour

The ice is gone

She has succeeded

She has freed him

The bird

Formerly trapped

In the stony

Freezing

Ice,

Is grateful

Flap flap flap

They soar

Up into the air

Two birds

One heroic

One rejoicing

Their flights intertwine

Weaving in

And out

Flying together

The birds

Are in love

Never

To leave

Or love another

Forever

Their paths

Weave together.
