Disclaimer: I don't own To Kill A Mockingbird, nor any of its characters, ect. Don't sue.

A/N:I wrote this right after I finished TKM. I just love the symbol of the mockingbird (and Boo!). I hope you like it!

Maycomb Burns

Sweet little mockingbird

Hiding all alone

Trapped inside his cage

He yearns not for freedom, though

Silly, silly people

Can't you open your eyes?

Look a little farther

At why the mockingbird won't fly

He's isolated from the outside world

Not because of bars

But because what people say

Leave the deepest scars

He doesn't want to get caught up

In all these color games

He doesn't want to live where

It engulfs the people in burning flames

The flames, they are burning

Brightly, he can see

From his perch at the dirty window

The mocking bird is displeased

Since the flames still blaze

And there's no sign of them dying

He sits and waits inside his cage

The mockingbird is crying

A/N: I hope you liked it! Review and tell me what you think! Constructive criticism is welcome and very much appreciated. Flames are not, and will be used to toast marshmallows for a tasty snack.
