Rose shivered in her bed. She had been awake all night, unable to sleep. Her mind wouldn't be quiet. She kept going through her Herbology notes and potion lessons in her mind; she would never stop studying. It was impossible for Rose to find peace, even when she was trying to fall asleep.

She knew she would never be able to sleep; so she decided to stop trying. Rose got out of bed, put on her fuzzy slippers and robe since it was a cold winter night, and grabbed her wand. Quietly, she shuffled through the girls' dormitory, then through the Gryffindor common room.

"Lumos!" She whispered as she approached the dark hallways. Rose tiptoed down three flights of stairs until she found the place she had been looking for.

"I want peace and quiet," she quietly repeated as she paced back and forth three times.

Suddenly, a door appeared in the wall she stood in front of and it gently swung open, revealing the Room of Requirement.

Rose stepped inside and could already feel the heat of the crackling fire before her. It was just what she wanted. There were shelves of books, a comfy armchair awaiting her, and a cup of hot chocolate and a bag of marshmallows on a table.

"Couldn't sleep?" Rose quickly whirled around at the sound of another voice and saw Scorpius Malfoy sitting in a chair.

Surprised, Rose took a while to gather her thoughts enough to reply. "No. I suppose you couldn't either."

"I like the quiet, something that is hard to find in a boys' Slytherine dormitory," he said smiling. Scorpius was holding a book and one hand and a cup of hot chocolate in the other. Rose grabbed the other hot chocolate from the table and went to sit by him.

"This is nice," she said. "It is exactly the place I was looking for. I hope I didn't disturb you."

"Of course not," Scorpius smiled. "It's nice to have some company." Rose sipped some of the hot chocolate.

"Mmm…" she said quietly at the delight of the chocolaty warmth.

"The marshmallows make it better," Scorpius said, obviously noticing her satisfaction in the drink.

"Ok then," Rose said, smiling. Scorpius got up and brought the bag of marshmallows back to where they were seated. He dropped two marshmallows in each of their cups.

"We really shouldn't be talking to each other you know," Rose said. "Weasleys and Malfoys aren't supposed to get along."

"Why should it matter what our parents say?" Scorpius said. "Life is more exciting going against routine anyway."

"I've never disobeyed rules before," Rose said quietly.

"Well, now is a good time to start." Scorpius leaned closer and soon they were both kissing.

Sometimes going against what other people say is a good thing. Life is more interesting with a risk, and so is hot chocolate with marshmallows.
