Susa Soldat, a teenage peeking out of from behind his curtains, staring into the street for the package that would change his life. He waited and waited, as he had done for the past week. It was boring work, and the bright early morning sun hurt his eyes, but it would all be worth it. Soon he would be able to strike out on his own, forging his own path, to be the very best!
"Susy!" A little girl yelled from downstairs. She said it as though it were a cute nickname for a pet. Susa hated it, but he realized he'd only have to put up with it for a little while longer. "Mom wants you down here for breakfast!"
The young teen quickly ran down the stairs and headed for the kitchen. He found his mom frying up some bacon, the table already set. He sat down in his usual seat and reached for some Oran Berry Soda.
"Don't you think it's a bit early for soda?" His mom spoke up. Her name's Sandra, but Susa only called her "Mom".
Susa shrugged. "I figured, I'll be leaving later today, might as well enjoy my last day."
His mom turned to him. "And you're so sure it will arrive today?" It was supposed to come anywhere from the beginning of this week to the end of next, but Susa just had a feeling it was today.
He shrugged. "Pretty sure, yeah." Then, she placed the bacon on the table, and mouths were busy with eating. It was always quite at breakfast.
Susa was a quite kid, at about 14 currently. He was always quiet, and never made any friends, but he never got picked on either. He was just there, sitting in the back of the class, never getting picked first, never getting picked last. But Susa was OK with this.
Soon, dinner was over, and his sister elected to do the dishes. She had just reached the age where she could see over the sink, and she wanted to be helpful, so she always did the dishes. Which was fine by him, he hated the dishes.
Susa quickly trampled up the stairs again, and got back in his position staring out at the street, watching people walk by. He started to space out when he noticed the red little flag was already up on the mailbox! The mail must've been delivered when he was eating.
Again, he ran down the stairs, and out the door. There, sitting in the mailbox, he found a small brown package labelled "To: Susa Soldat". Quickly, the packaging was torn aside, and inside he found a small red device, and a note. It said to meet Professor Oak in Pallet Town!
Susa held the note out in excitement. This was it! A new life awaited him!
