YAY First chapter. This was really surprisingly easy to write. Enjoy
Word of the day: Insipid- boring or dull
See I'm fun, and educational! (Stolen from Max Ride, but still appropriate)
I stepped into the school, and listened.
From what I can tell no one else is around, that I can tell.
To avoid any further confusion, I'm blind. Sighing I started to walk down said hallway, carefully listening to make sure I didn't do something embarrassing like, run into a wall.
Wait, why should I care?
I'm not going to be staying long because my stupid parents, we were always moving because of their company Itex, so I had never made many friends.
It turns out people don't want to hang out with you if your going to leave a few months after you've met them.
But onto why I'm here.
The parentals feel that instead of homeschooling me as they usually do, I should go to public school.
They were kinda surprised to discover this idea was not greeted with me jumping up and down, doing a touchdown dance, and shooting off a couple fireworks, but instead with "Whaaaaaaaa….." yes, that is what came out of my mouth.
Thinking I had not heard them, they repeated "Were going to send you to public school!" Then beamed like they had just proved that unicorns exist. (Yes they were that freaking happy) "But, I-I'm blind!" I stuttered at them, my mouth gaping open like a fish. "Yes but you've never really gotten to interact with kids your own age" my mom replied "and your very smart, classes would be a breeze."
I could tell I had been defeated, so here I was.
You know, a thought just occurred to me. My parents dropped their blind teenager off at school, and then left without telling him where to go. Smooth Mom and Dad, smooth…..
"Hey, are you okay?" a soft voice interrupted my thought rant. I jumped, not realizing someone had walked up to me without my knowledge. "Yeah I'm okay." I said to her, turning in her direction. "I was just thinking."
"Okay, well my name is Monique but everyone calls me Nudge. Are you new her? I bet you're new because I've never seen you around. Whats your name?" she babbled. I resisted the urge to cover my ears, and asked her, "Where's the main office?" she stopped speaking for a moment then replied, "It's down the six hundred hall." I nodded and hesitantly asked another question.
"Can you take me there? I'm kinda blind."
"Sure!" she said, then grabbed my hand and began to skip (?) down the hall all the time babbling about her friends and her life in general.
I think by the time we got to the office I had heard her entire life story, and found myself surprisingly interested.
Maybe this place won't be so bad after all.
Hope you like the story, I think it's kind of a short chappie but I'm awful at writing long chapters.
R&R Please
