A/N: I don't own Degrassi. Because if I did, I'd have Eli to myself. (Sorry, Clare!)

Distractions

Clare had never been this distracted. Never. She sat, behind him, and she stared. she should be focused on the lesson. But she was distracted. So why? What was it about him? She sighed. Eli Goldsworthy. She studied him. What was it about him that was so… so intoxicating? What made him so damn distracting? He turned around and murmured a soft comment. She found herself agreeing.

Was it his eyes? She smiled as she looked into the sparkling, jade green pools. Maybe…

It could be his voice. It was smooth, low, and confident.

Was it his smirk? Or perhaps his smile? The very same smile that made her knees buckle and her heart race when she saw it.

It was just him, she decided.

But was that such a bad thing? Clare needed a distraction these days. She needed something to take her mind off of the bickering that was happening at home. And maybe Eli was just what she needed.

And maybe, she was what he needed too.

...

Eli had never really needed a distraction. Well, that wasn't true. When his parents had divorced, he'd needed one. Badly. Of course, he hadn't gotten one. Maybe that was why he was so attached to his headphones.

But he'd given them to Clare. Because right now, she needed a distraction. Hadn't he once been in her situation? He knew how she was feeling. He'd felt that was.

Besides, he didn't need a distraction right now. He had her. And Clare Edwards was distracting enough to him.
