Though he's was nearly forty Ruby watched Sam constantly examine the world like a newborn, everything a new sensation, left untaught and unknown to him. In public there had been times he embarrassed her asking questions about the most seemingly obvious things. Also arguments such as golden gate Bridge and what year it collapsed. 243 years from now is a rather difficult thing to prove. It's when they are alone in the apartment snuggling on the couch when his innocence peaks forth and he asks questions that she loves it.
'Hey Ruby what are they doing?" She looks to the television screen that he finally stopped on ESPN.
"Their playing basketball. Oh come on don't tell me there aren't any sports in 2439!"
"With the doops there wasn't much time for sports, but we do play something called Dunghunts see you take a rabbits …."
"Sam it's okay I don't need to know!" Ruby laughs, turning attention back to the set. He smirks and does the same.
"March madness? I see you can only play basketball in March. No wonder so many people are in the stands!" She laughs again, yeah just like a child.
