Fang knocked twice. "Can I come in?" he asked quietly.

"Sure," I said. What's the point in saying no when he's coming in anyway?

He opened the door and walked inside. "How're you feeling?" he said.

"Awful," I snuffled.

He felt my forehead. "Wow, you do have a temperature. You're boiling."

"Yeah. Want some eggs?" I laughed, but it sort of turned into a coughing fit.

To those of you who still haven't picked up on what happens, yes. I had a cold. A really bad cold, actually. I never listened when Mom told me not to go flying in the rain. Because, guess what? It's wet. And feathers and water don't mix, may I add.

He sat beside me. "Well, you have to get better soon, Max." he smoothed my hair. "It's very boring without you to tell the flock what to do. Your mother is going crazy."

I pictured my mom running after Gazzy and Iggy and smiled. "I hope I do." I said.

Fang leaned against the wall. Suddenly, I sneezed—noisily. He handed me a tissue.

"Hey, Fang," I said. "You better get outta here before you catch my cold."

"Why?" he asked.

"Uh… well, why would you stay?"

He seemed to consider it for a moment.

"Um… well," he said, edging closer to me. "First of all, because I promised you I wouldn't ever leave you. Second," he paused as he came closer. "Because I have nothing better to do than to watch you and speak to you if you like." He was practically on top of me now. "Then," he whispered. "I'm staying because you loooooove me. This much!" I was ready to smack his butt when he said, "And I love you too, Max. This much." He said. Then, he closed the gap between us with a kiss.

My system nearly crashed down. Fang had just spoken as much as he had spoken during his whole life. Then he was saying he loved me. And then he kissed me. Plus, having a cold didn't make stuff better.

I couldn't breathe through my nose because it was seriously blocked, so when I started to gasp and pant—how ridiculous—we broke apart.

"Only that much?" I grinned. "Whoa, what a waste of time, then."

He smirked. "More than that." He said as he kissed me again. But, this time, he had to break apart.

Because he started to sneeze.

I smiled and said "Told ya," before he blew his nose and I kissed him again.
