CAUTION: THIS FANFICTION CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE ERAGON MOVIE, AND THE ERAGON AND ELDEST BOOKS. IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THEM OR SEEN THE MOVIE, DO SO AND COME BACK AND READ THIS, OR IT WON'T MAKE SENSE.

SENTENCES IN BOLD DURING THE FANFICTION, ARE PULLED DIRECTLY FROM THE BOOK ITSELF, AS WELL AS INCLUDING WHAT PAGE THEY ARE ON SO YOU CAN CHECK FOR YOURSELF.

1.) Terim- They completely took the entire pert of the city Terim out of the entire movie. They don't even mention the name of the city! Angela the herbalist was in the city they stopped for supplies in, instead of Terim with Solumbum. Terim as also one of the places Roran and the rest of Caravall stops in the second book, and they don't have any leading up to this at all.

2.) Jeod- The main reason they went to Terim was to talk to Jeod, who was a secret member of the Varden, and an old friend of Brom's. Since they didn't even go to Terim in the movie at all, obviously they didn't see Jeod. But he plays an important part in the the finding out about Seithr oil, the Razacs hiding palace, and getting supplies. And they don't even put him in the movie. He also plays a part as Roran's guide in Eldest.

3.) Orik- Also one of the more important characters in the book, Orik was not featured in the movie. Playing an important role in the second book of the trilogy, Orik was supposed to be their guide around the Varden. At first I thought he was the dwarf the always followed Aijahd, but I figured with the help of my friends, that that was King Hrothgar, who also was not mentioned by name in the movie, and had no important part.

4.) Solumbum- One of the things that pissed me off the most about this movie, was the fact that Solumbum was not even in it. He gives Eragon a fortune that is extremely important in the second and probably third book. His cleverness and ability to speak telepathically, and to change shape help them in Terim, as well as in the final battle in Eragon and Eldest. He is a great part of the book: helpful and clever, and he was sorely missed in the movie.

5.) Urgals- In the book, the described urgals as being half men, half beast with large curling horns. In this movie, they just looked like large gay men with face paint on. I swear, I just thought they were just soldiers, but then they were all like Urgals. They were supposed to have horns as described in the part in the book where Eragon walks into Morns tavern; "The shiny-black Urgal horns, their twisted span as great as his outstretched arms, were mounted over the door." P.27 I myself was very disappointed in their Urgals army and Urgal special effects. They were supposed be like animalistic men, who just wanted to kill; like they were infected by a killing fever. But they just looked hired.

6.) Katrina- What actually surprised me, was that Katrina was not in this movie either. If you have guessed by now, they have left out many characters that play important roles in the next book. At the beginning of the movie, I was just waiting for her to appear, and then to have them skip over her completely was so very no cool. Roran was probably sore without her.

7.) Roran's job- At the beginning of the book, you find out the Eragon's older cousin Roran was going to work at the mill in order to marry Katrina. However, in the movie, Roran just says he is wandering around do he doesn't have to be pressed into the army. Once again, no mill, no Katrina. Part of me is wondering why they even bothered to put him in the movie; I mean, he spent some brotherly time with Eragon, then left five minutes later. Once again, why bother with him.
