Summary: One-Shot D/Hr.

He saw her every day, eating breakfast. He saw her smartness, her passion for learning, her fiery belief. And he wondered. How could someone be so smart and yet be so pretty. It was usually all looks and no brains and vice versa. But she was a hybrid. And he wanted her. Badly. So much that it sometimes hurt. His father would not approve, he knew that. But he didn't care what his father thought anymore. It was his life and his feelings. And his feelings were love for the person eating breakfast at the table opposite him. He was sure she hated him. But, once or twice, he had looked up and seen her staring. He wondered, what was she staring at?

She saw him. Admired him, the way people worshipped him, and how they would never do that for her, how no-one would ever worship her, hang around with her and hope for the merest glance at them. She yearned for him to be hers. And she noticed how he had always been flanked by at least two people. Crabbe and Goyle. Dumb and Dumber. She would have been surprised if it turned out that Crabbe and Goyle had more than a single brain cell between them. Therefore she was surprised to see him enter the library, alone and silent. Her heart beat faster as he moved towards her. "Hello, Hermione," he said. She was shocked. What the hell was going on? He did not like her, after all. SAY SOMETHING, screamed her brain.

"Uh, hi Draco. Since when have we been on first name terms?". She was confused as to Draco's motives. Was this all part of some major prank on her? He did not say anything, but sat down beside her. "What are you doing?" he asked softly.
"Potions homework. Too much racket in the Common Room.". He nodded silently, admiring her passion to do something and do it to the best of her ability. "What book are you reading?" she asked. He showed her the cover. "Salazar Slytherin-The life and death of the Hogwarts co-founder" "How come Crabbe and Goyle aren't with you?"
"They wouldn't be able to find the Library with Omnioculars" he joked.
"Are you still with Pansy?" she asked, still doing her Potions.
A pause, then "No".
"Who do you have your eye on just now then, if not her?"
Draco considered, then said: "Well, she's intelligent, brown haired, pretty, a Gryffindor, and she's sitting in front of me". He got up and started to leave. Hermione ran after him, grabbing him and kissing him.
When they broke apart she said "I'll always love you. Always."
