Carmilla's POV

It has been a few days since the shooting and since then, they have hidden in one of the secret passages in her mother's house. Mattie is upstairs with LaFontaine, JP and Perry and Laura is left to look after her, she guessed.

She can feel Laura doing god knows what beside her and when she opened her eyes, she saw her fixing some of her things. Her eyes got stuck looking at Laura. She wanted to hold her like she did before. But things are different now. She thought to herself.

Without thinking, she blurted out, "Do you miss me?" and she kind of regret it because she didn't think she could handle the Laura's answer. She watched Laura stopped whatever she was doing and slowly turned around to face her.

"Uhh Carm, I didn't know you were awake. Did I wake you?" Laura rambled. Usually, she's so adorable when she does that but this time it's different because she didn't get an answer or anything. She decided to push a little bit more for answers.

"Yeah, I've been watching you for a while now... So do you?" She said softly, more like pleading and hoping.

"Do I what?" Laura answered hesitantly.

This is starting to be annoying so she decided that if she didn't want to answer her question then that's that. She doesn't miss her. So she just said "You know what? Nevermind." and then she turned her back on her and closed her eyes.

"Yes." Laura said shyly and it made her stomach feel funny. She turned around and looked at her and Laura continued to say something while approaching her.

"Of course, I missed you. I missed you everyday. I was worried about you, I didn't know if I did the right thing. Hell, I don't know what's the right thing to do anymore. All I know is that when you left, something was missing from me." Laura was crying now and she didn't fight her feelings anymore. She moved closer to her and she held her.

"I missed you too, buttercup. " she lifted Laura's face and kissed her on the forehead. "And for what it's worth, whether what you did will turn out to be the right or the wrong thing to do, you did it for the students of the university and your friends. And that's pretty heroic for me." she then planted a kiss on Laura's lips and they slowly fell asleep.
