Author's Note: Just posting the intro right now to see what y'all think of the idea. Nothing really here yet. –Tom

LOCATION: Mainframe Archives

TIME:   Timeless

The security systems offline for now, the doors to the Mainframe Archives creak slowly open. A single, brilliant spotlight snaps on, revealing an ancient bronze sprite hunched over a vidwindow, a single file lying open before him. With a few final keystrokes, at last he is finished. His master work is finally complete. Slowly, wheeling to face the open doorway, he begins to speak as if to himself.

"The Web is a vast and mysterious place," he begins, his voice deep, resonant, filled with the knowledge of age. "Millions of systems, all interconnected… each with its own lore, traditions, and beliefs. It is said that each system's culture lies rooted in its textfiles- its legends, and mythologies. Come, User- let us explore the systems of the Web, hear their thoughts, their tales." With a single keystroke, the light fades. A vidwindow expands to fill the far wall, and the vaults of legend are opened once more…

A/N: So, what do you think of the idea at least? My plan is to devote a chapter to each "legend", and see how it goes. Any suggestions? R&R people!
