Um, hi! This is my second fanfic ever, but I gave up on my first one since no one reviewed, or gave me any feedback. Constructive critism and reviews are welcome. One shot for now, maybe a actual fic later!
Travis flopped down on his bed, eyes glassy and view unfocused. He had always been known as, along with his brother Connor, the funny one, as well the mischievous one. He also prided himself as being a self-declared ladies man, which actually was quite true. Travis was not a bad-looking guy, and many girls were attracted to his bad-boy like attitude. However, he only eyes for a certain girl.
Katie Gardner.
Travis had many tricks up his sleeves to get a girl, but unfortunately, he became too tongue-tied when in her presence. The best he had ever managed was: Uh Duh" and a sheepish smile. Nevertheless, she had grinned back, making her look even cuter.
So, to get her attention, he had resorted to pranks. First, it was small pranks, like itching powder and worms in pillows, but he had her attention at last, even if it was her screaming bloody murder at him while chasing him at top speed. And boy, was she fast. But, luckily, he was faster. The one time she did catch him...well, it had not been pretty. Let's that he never could look at grape vines without cringing ever again.
But these days, he had to turn to bigger plans, first placing chocolate bunnies on the garden roof, then spraying all the plants in the cabin with green spray paint, and now finally, he replaced all the newly patched up plants with dead ones. That had been the last straw for Katie. Normally, she would forgive him after a day or two, but this time, two weeks had passed, and she hadn't even looked at him yet.
So, Travis had roped Connor into stealing a book on meanings of flowers and after intently studying it, went out and bought some red carnations and roses. He went out at night and planted them all by hand. He snuck in the Demeter cabin and place two flowers on Katie's bedside table.
Katie woke up to her cabin's excessive screaming. The garden had been freshly replanted with carnations and roses. She gazed in wonder and ran outside. She shook her head and went back inside to change, and saw something she had not seen before. A red rose and a lily lay on her bedside table, along with a card. She stared at the card. "I'm so sorry", it read.
She got up and went to find the love and new beginning a vase to be put in.
Travis went to the window and looked out. He saw Katie looking at the, dare he say it himself, beautiful garden in shock and amazement. His lips twitched into a smile, especially when she came out grasping the card in her hand. Someday he would tell her. 'Till then, he would just admire her from afar, like a guardian angel.
