Squwooshing Snowballs
A/N: Loved writing this! It had me laughing and giggling all the way through and I'm sure 'squwoosh' isn't an actual word, just a word that I made up! I'm sorry if my snowy knowledge isn't very good… as I have only been to the snow once when I was young and now I live in "Sunny Queensland" and well yeah… it doesn't snow up here… Anyways… this is a Secret Santa for Auraya-of-the-white (On LJ singingupines) using her prompt 2: Outdoor Winter Fun. enjoy hon! =D

Gillian walked down the snow covered footpath, her overcoat wrapped tightly around her slender frame, the crunching of snow under her feet, and the soft breeze that ruffled her snow streaked tawny hair and whipped her coat around her legs. She loved winter, the crisp coolness of the snow that fell across the city; ice skating across frozen ponds; children playing outdoors, throwing snowballs at each other, building snow men, and groups of giggling little girls making snow angels; that's what she missed about being so young, being able to frolic, carefree, in the snow, making snow angels and having snow ball fights.
But she also loved winter for another reason. Christmas lights, Christmas decorations, and last but not least, hot chocolate with a hint of caramel and mint. A slight smile formed on her lips as she thought about it. The minty sweet warmness as it slipped down her-
She was startled out of her reverie as a snowball hit her in the centre of the back. Annoyance formed on her face as she whipped around to come face to face with the culprit responsible for throwing the snowball at her. Cal stood behind her, a snowball in his hand as he grinned at her.
"Cal!" She said, her eyes narrowing at him. Cal threw the snowball up in the air before catching it single handed again, a grin plastered on his face and mirth in his blue eyes as he approached her.
Gillian couldn't help but grin playfully as she took a few steps backwards. Cal reached her and wrapped an arm around her waist as he started laughing when a look of mock horror crossed her features as he brought the hand with the snowball closer to her.
"AHHH! CAL!" She shrieked between her giggles as he crumpled the cold snowball down the front of her blouse, the flakes falling down her chest as she struggled free of his grasp to frantically rid her warm body of the icy cold snow.
Cal couldn't stop laughing at the site before him. Gillian had all but thrown her coat from her shoulders and her hands were shaking the top of her blouse in a bid to shake the melting ice loose.
Cal stopped laughing briefly to look at her as she stalked towards him, her leather gloved hands fashioning a snowball, a sly smirk on her face as she got closer to him. He reached out and grabbed her wrist just before she had the chance to squwoosh a snowball on the front of his jacket.
Seizing the snowball from her hand, he let her go and grinned at her as she took off in the opposite direction, he was hot on her heals as grabbed her around the waist sending them both spiralling towards the foot deep snow covered grass, laughing the whole time.
Gillian rested her head on his shoulder, her giggles dying down as she laid there with him in the snow, his arms coming up to wrap around her waist. She was content laying there in his warm arms, not a worry in the world.
And they watched the snow that continued to fall around them, gracefully dancing under the dim DC streetlights.
Some time later, they slowly got up and dusted the ice off each other, his arm coming to rest around her waist, pulling her closer as they walked off into the cold snowy night together.
