"Why can't we fight back?" one of the humans challenged, "Why do you have to kill us right now? We aren't going to just throw our lives to you."
"I suppose it is fair for you humans to fight, but you do know you do not stand a chance," the main vampire, Katrina, responded with a smirk on her white face, "Vampires are one hundred times stronger and more aggressive than you puny humans. So, good luck with trying to kill us. I have never heard of many vampires dying, other than…" She glared in my direction.
My stomach dropped. Edward.
"It was all a blur, a pale face erupting into black. My life ended," I considered that for a second.
"Hey Katrina," she glanced at me, "My life is over, end it for once and for all. I will help my humans battle, but after they win, I give you my permission to kill me." I said in the fiercest voice possible—it was so Edward.
Katrina had a shocked expression.
"No, Bella!" Esme screamed. The Cullens ran to my side.
"Bella, I know you miss Edward, we all do, but we all love you here. You carry our family and we cannot imagine life without you. Edward would rather you die naturally, than have an arranged death." Carlisle pleaded.
"There is no other way to die when immortal. And Edward is my life. Katrina, promise me." My eyes bared into her eyes.
"Uh… I don't know. Bella, we have been friends for ages…" She hesitated.
"Oh, come on. You turned onto the other side, the vicious side. You drink human's blood….surely you should not spare one more life. My time has come. No one else will do it except the Volturi and since they do not exist anymore, Katrina, I demand you to."
"If it makes you happy…. then I will follow through." Katrina still sounded uneasy.
The rest of the Cullens argued for ten minutes, each taking a turn jumping in my face saying they won't allow it. I ignored them, merely staring into blank space. It did not matter what they would say. I solely knew where I belonged, and that was with Edward. Whether he had a soul or not, I belong wherever he is.
"Ah, Bella, forget the fight, I am no longer in the mood. I apologize for instigating all of this. If we must proceed, please, let us do so now. I have to catch a flight to Montreal at dawn. "
The humans exited the mall.
I said my goodbyes to my forever family.
"Miss you, baby sister," Emmett said, with tears in his eyes, lifting me up in the air.
Jasper kissed my cheek and Esme hugged me tight, whispering "I am very grateful that you were a part of our family, Bella, I love you."
Rosalie gave me a passionate hug with the expression in her eyes screaming "take me with you."
Alice…..oh, Alice. She raced over and gave me the longest hug in the world. Our relationship was too precious to say goodbye.
Carlisle came over and said into my ear, "Give him my regards, Bella. You have always been like a daughter to me. Don't be surprised if we follow you. I'm afraid we have been going against nature for too long." He nodded and stepped away.
I took a deep breath. Within a few minutes, my broken heart will be mended.
Katrina pounced and I shut my eyes. I could feel the pain arising throughout my body. All of a sudden, everything snapped and came to a short stop. Slightly puzzled, I opened my eyes and gasped.
In front of me, sat a human staring at a black floor. The boy looked oddly familiar, which triggered a strong feeling in my gut. He had frazzled bronze hair, and a god-like facial structure. Most of all, he had the most beautiful green, green eyes I have ever seen. The boy stared up at me and immediately smiled a glorious, crooked smile. Edward.
