A new story. If anyone reads my other stories, they are on-hold for now. I was in hospital for a while and lost my mojo for them. I am concentrating on this one for now, but I will go back to them sooner or later. Please enjoy though.

Brooke

I am 18 today and am visiting my best friend Tammy in Atlantis. I have long blonde hair with streaks of red throughout it and have bright blue eyes.

Tammy sat opposite me laughing her head off and the joke I just made, her light blonde hair cropped around her face. Her laugh made me think back to the day we met.

We first met in a children's home. My family put me there as they hated me with a passion. I hated them just as much, if not more.

Tammy and I got on like a house on fire and we both wanted a fresh start so we decided to run away together.

Tammy and I split up after two months of travelling together but we stole a mobile each and exchanged numbers before we parted. We have been best friends ever since.

My boyfriends' older brother, who we both see as a father figure, even if he is a bit rugged, was being my chauffeur today as he had an errand to run in the centre of town.

Tammy and I were discussing her life in town when there was a loud thump into the door.

"Were you expecting anyone?" I asked, curious as to what was outside. Nobody knew that Tammy lived here except for a select few, and those people understood that we were having a girly day. Tammy shook her head in confusion and went to open the door.

I started getting some bowls out for us to make a cupcake mix when I heard a scream followed by a gurgle. The door was starting to close and I ran to the hallway. I saw Tammy on a heap on the floor, blood pouring out of her neck. I fell to my knees hugging Tammy close to me and tried to calm her down.

"Brooke, I love you" Tammy whispered softly before shutting her brown eyes.

Sobs were ripping from my chest and I felt her shudder then fall limp. My best friend was dead.

I have no idea how much time had passed with me sitting on the floor, when I heard a groan below me. I looked down and saw Tammy looking straight as me. Only, it wasn't her eyes which stared into mine.

I started to shake vigorously and she-her-it, began to snap its jaws at me. I froze, confused on what to do. It was all I could do to restrain her-IT-from biting my arm. Tears fell from my eyes as I started to lose my grip on her shoulders.

Suddenly, a fire poker smashed through Tammy's head and I let out a scream.

"Come on, them things are surroundin' the 'ouse."

They were the last words I heard before I blacked out.
