"Uhg!" Chad shouted as he attempted to rip his tie from his throat. "I hate this stupid thing!"

"You know," Sonny said walking toward him " ties are actually really beneficial."

"How can anything good come out of this?" he gestured to the disastrous knot that had become his tie.

Sonny laughed. "Do you need some help?" she asked.

"No" he grunted. "I can do it, I just..." he stopped when he realize the knot was just getting worse. "Yes please" he said. "Help would be appreciated."

"Wow Cooper, you must really need help" she said, stepping forward to undo the knot.

"What makes you think that?" he scoffed.

"You actually said please" she smiled. "That never happens"

"I say please" he objected.

"No you don't" Sonny replied as she finally undid the knot.

"Yes I do!"

"Whatever" she rolled her eyes.

"Umm... could you re-tie it for me too, please" Chad asked sheepishly.

"Sure" she smiled. "Chad," she said after a moment.

"Hmm?"

"Who normally does your tie for you?"

"You'll laugh"

"Probably" she admitted

"You swear you won't tell anyone?"

"Who would I tell?"

"I don't know"

"Chad I promise I won't tell anyone"

"My dad" he whispered looking embarrassed.

"There you go she said stepping back

"Thanks" he smiled at her and then looked down. "Hey, how'd you learn to tie so well?"

"My dad taught me" she shrugged.

"Cool"

"So where's your dad?"

"He's out of town for a few days so I'm staying with my uncle "

"Why didn't you have him help you?"

"He had a meeting this morning"

"Just let me know if you need my help again" she said, turning to walk away.

"Wait, Sonny" Chad said, reaching out to touch her arm.

"Yes?" she turned, a small smile on her face.

"You still have to tell me what's so beneficial about having to wear a tie"

"Oh" her smile faded. She thought for a moment and then her smile returned, wider and more devious than before. "Well" she said taking a step toward him "there are lots of reasons" she grabbed the end of his tie.

"Such as?" he choked out, looking at her nervously.

"If you weren't wearing a tie" she whispered stepping closer to him, her hands reaching farther up his tie. "I'd have a really hard time doing this" She pulled gently downward on the tie, tilting his head slightly closer to hers. she pushed herself up onto her toes and raised her lips to meet his.

"You're right" he said breathlessly as she pulled away. "Ties are the best thing ever invented"

"I couldn't agree more" she mumbled, leaning her head on his chest as he wrapped his arms around her.
