Breaking the Law

It was quite cold, but still sunny. The wind was cold and fresh as it brushed next to Maggie's face, making all her curls cover her face. Just a few days ago, Siobhan found a new house for them to live in. It was a nice place – even for vampires – close to the city.

The small coven was hunting humans at the middle of the night. Maggie loved how most of the time she found some of the best human blood ever, still she hated that she had to get it by killing. She never thought that vampires were monsters, even though they killed. She thought about it like a natural process, like an animal hunting for its prey.

One time Maggie saw a small figure lying on the grass, in the forest. Siobhan immediately thought of an immortal child – which she wasn't wrong of it. Maggie was the first one to act and moved closer to the creature. Maggie kneeled down. The child looked up, and saw Maggie's sweet face.

She was maybe around 11 years old when changed into a vampire. And she was maybe the most beautiful girl in the world. Her hair fell in soft wavy curls, and it was dark black. Her eyes used to be pure hazel colored, but now they were scarlet red. As every vampire: fair-skinned.

''Mag-'' Siobhan was uttering before she got interrupted.

''Who are you?'' The child asked. Her face expression changed as she heard her new voice.

''My name's Maggie. What's yours?'' She asked mildly.

''I'm Rose.''

Rosemary told them her story, or at least the parts she remembered the most. At the end, she told them about the uncomfortable hurt she was feeling in her throat. She hasn't moved from this forest for about 2 days, and the burn was incredibly painful.

''Maggie, we shouldn't take this child to the city,'' Siobhan whispered.

''Definitely not, she's an immortal child and won't be able to control herself.'' Liam said looking at the child sitting far behind.

''But we can't leave her here neither.'' Maggie said, making a sweet face towards both of her coven mates. ''Someone could stay with her, while another one could go to the city to look for some blood.''

They planned for a few more minutes and then Siobhan and Liam went to the city to bring some unlucky humans to the girl they didn't know.

''I've never thought about vampires before. I was never interested in these mythical creatures, and suddenly I'm one of them.'' Rosemary whispered.

''Humans think we are myths, fiction. And I'm not going to lie to you, but I also thought about us like that. Now, what you need for the pain to go away is blood.''

''I'm sure of it. Am I really going to be burnt by the sun in the morning?'' She asked, looking sad.

''No, you're just going to sparkle.'' Maggie chuckled.

''And as that would bring too much attention, guess I'm not able to go to beaches anymore.''

Maggie nodded.

Siobhan and Liam came back with two humans. Rose left them dry.

Years have gone by, Liam and Siobhan were still uncomfortable with the immortal child, but soon they started to become fond of her.

Somehow – The Irish Coven still doesn't know how – the Volturi knew about Rosemary. Every vampire knows that the law doesn't permit immortal children. The Volturi then came and killed her. None of the members of the Irish Coven created her, so they could still live. But still, they hate what happened to Rosemary. She was a different child even though she was an immortal child. She never killed a human by herself; she was always accompanied by the Irish Coven. They would never forget her, but they didn't talk about her anymore.
