Hi everyone. I'm totally new at this but having read quite a few stories on here, I thought I'd give it a go. This is only a short and sweet thing designed to test out my writing style and to see if people think my writing is worthy of being read on here, so please, please read and review. All comments appreciated, even mean ones :p Also, I'm bored and if I have to read any more of Ulysses, I think my head will explode. Enjoy!

The two figures that sombrely made their way down the corridor were unearthly silent. The only sound in the gloom was a sobbing noise which came more and more frequently from Belle as she walked slowly behind the Beast and started to contemplate what fate had in store for her in a castle with a monster for a master. Her head was still whirling from everything that had happened in the last few minutes. Her beloved father, her only friend and companion, gone before she could say goodbye-for Belle, the long and slow journey down the endless corridors was a funeral march. A tear trickled down her cheek before dropping soundlessly onto the faded carpet beneath her feet.

Up ahead, Lumiere, held aloft in the trembling hand of the Beast, could stand the silence no longer. "Say something to her" he whispered gently to his master. The Beast was confused. It hadn't occurred to him that he should say anything else to the girl behind him. Stuttering slightly, he tried to think of something to say. "I…er…hope you like it here." Satisfied, he resumed staring straight ahead, only to be nudged by one of Lumiere's arms. Again, he spoke "The castle is your home now so you can go anywhere you like…except the West Wing."

"What's in the West…," Belle started but was abruptly cut off by the Beast's vicious snarl "IT'S FORBIDDEN!"

Lumiere sighed to himself. It was going to be a long night.
