This is just a little thing I was thinking about. It's based on a song called "Ordinary World".

Came in from the rain on Thursday, on the avenue
Kagome stepped into the warmth of her home, shaking out her wet umbrella. She had returned from Feudal Japan, trying to get away from the strange world over there. But she missed something.
For I heard you talking softly
She looked up, almost expecting to see Inu Yasha standing in the kitchen. She shook her head lightly, trying to shake away her emotions as well.
I turned on the lights, the TV, and the radio
Kagome sat down in front of the television, turning it on. She flipped channels absentmindedly, not able to concentrate on anything.
Still I can't escape the ghost of you
Kagome suddenly turned her head, peering over the top of the couch. She thought she had heard footsteps, and a light brushing of cloth against floor.
What is happening to it all?
Kagome sighed. Her memories of Inu Yasha and the others were rapidly fading. Now that she had settled into normal life, she had completely forgotten about them. Pausing now, she wondered if they thought about her as well. She smiled at the thought of Inu Yasha missing her.
Crazy, some say
In an attempt to catch those fleeting memories, she had told some of her friends about Inu Yasha. They had laughed at her, not believing. Anyone else who overheard thought she was insane.
Where is the life that I recognize? Gone away
Kagome shook for a moment, fighting back tears. True, it was life over there that had driven her away, but it was wonderful. Just being with Inu Yasha made it all worthwhile.
But I won't cry for yesterday, there's an ordinary world
Somehow I have to find
And as I try to make my way to the ordinary world
I will learn to survive.
The open door was battered by the wind. Kagome, after snatching the jewel shard off the dresser in the front hallway, had run into the rain, umbrella completely forgotten. She splashed through the puddles, confused at her actions. Leaving her comfortable, safe home, she was choosing to go back to Feudal Japan, where she had been miserable. She smiled for a moment, imagining Inu Yasha's face when she returned.
"Wench! Desert us and come back, expecting us to welcome you!" And Shippou.
"Inu Yasha! Leave her along! Kagome, it's good to see you back!"
Grinning full-fledged now, Kagome sprinted for the well.
