Ok so I edited chapter one and fixed a few things. Not alot, and it's hardly noticeable. I will be editing chapter two and have it fixed up by maybe tomorrow. If i missed something let me know. Reviews are very appreciated! I do not own Naruto or the franchise. Enjoy!
"Again!" Her tired features contort with determination. A mass of chakra begins to flow from it's place within the confines of it's hosts. The color swirling as it is injected into the seal below a lifeless corpse. The seal glows giving a signal to begin, and hand signs are rapidly made memorized with practiced known by heart. How could they not know them this was the hundred and sixth attempt. The one hundredth and sixth challenge to the gods. These signs meant more to her than she would ever admit. These signs would right all those wrongs. It just had to!
A tear spilled landing upon the oddly drawn seal unrecognizable to anyone other than the three that for years had been working tirelessly to perfect, and make this dream a reality. It had taken her three years of research, two more years of begging, and negotiations with the great nations to get this far. What they were doing here would save countless people, and end the sorrow of thousands. This would give everyone a second chance, it would rebuild families, and nations. This one jutsu that never seemed to cross anyone's mind as a possibility would fix broken hearts, reunite families, and cure the hatred among so many.
The seal began to react. First a green, this was nothing new, it always happened. The body lifting from its perch upon the cold floor. The darkness being driven back. It's embrace ripped from the body like separating a reluctant lover from their beloved. The glow rising, the seal wrapping around the body encasing it within a now golden glow. Her breath hitching now a pain in her lungs as the glow began to fade. More chakra it was going to need even more, she realized, and stood from her kneeling position on the cold stone beneath her. Her frame shaking underneath. Almost a month of barely touched meals, little sleep, and lack of sun was taking its toll on the kunoichi. Her weak frame was threatening to give out. Still her will would not halter. No not in the least bit, she would be victorious this time.
Her arms stretching out to allow her palms contact with the glowing mass of flesh that once held life. Her sliver/green chakra gathering within them as her trembling became more pronounced. Seeping its way into the flowing seal being drawn within. The color mixing and shaping a net to strengthen the Jutsu and hopefully draw out the desired effect. Her tears spilling as the glow lessen fear of failure within her eyes. Could it be possible that it in fact could not be done? All her research said that it was possible. At least in theory anyway. Was she going to fail again?
"NO!" She screamed hoarsely. Her lips cracked from dehydration as he pumped more Chakra into her task. "NO! You will return you selfish bastard! You can't be right about this! I won't let you win! I won't stand for it. I won't believe that your gone! I can bring you back if you'd just listen to me, have faith in me. Then I know you'll come back. Im not the weakest anymore. You owe me that for your negligence in my training. Please come back Kakashi Sensei " Sakura cried, pushing her will, chakra, memories, everything she could into this one last attempt. If she failed now there would be no more chances the elders made that clear.
"Give us positive results by dinner or this project will be terminated Miss Haruno." The elder spoke harshly, and to the point. A satisfied look on his smug face. He didn't believe it was possible to bring the dead back to life. She was too cocky in his opinion too much like Tsunade. He would not let her almost doppelganger decide the fate of others. No he had enough of that from Tsunade. He would squash her dreams, and hopes. A failure from the once apprentice who was so sure of herself was, in his mind, a failure on her teacher's part. He would be sure to point that out when she was defeated. So just to make himself completely sure that his intentions were hidden he allowed the body of Hatake Kakashi to be her test subject.
A whimper tore from her throat, causing her to tremble again. Then she saw it the gold flashing. It began to pulse slowly as the gold began to pick up it's luster. She gasped, her eyelids lowering to shield her pupils from the shine that was intensified more by the second. Another pulse, and she was pushed back by the wave. Her feet trying to find purchase, and yet her form was to weak to do so. She couldn't look away mesmerized by the ethereal glow the body was now absorbing. Her eyes widening as she heard something familiar. It was unmistakable! It was Kakashi, but what was he saying? She strained her ears to hear, and she couldn't believe it. His feet gently placed on the stone beneath him. His eyes the same as always as he spoke. He... he was... no he wouldn't! He was making excuses! "Sorry I'm late, I was on my way when suddenly... oomph." He was cut off as she tackled him wrapping her arms around his torso tightly. Tears free flowing soaking his shirt, as Sakura's assistants began to cheer. Observers once in place now running for the door to alert the Hokage and elders of the amazing miracle that had just taken place in front of them. Sakura heard one last sentence yelled with joy. It cascading from their lips to wash her with relief before she fell unconscious in the warmth of her former teammates' arms.
"She's done it Sakura Haruno has successfully revived Hatake Kakashi!"
