Always
(A/N: Inuyasha is not mine. I'm just playing with the characters. If the characters were mine, Kikyou would have never died, Inuyasha and her would have had their happily ever after and Kagome would have fallen in love with Kouga. 3)
Under his watchful eyes, I knew that I was safe. In his warm embrace, I felt the comfort and love that he had for me. I knew that if I could get to him, I would feel all of that again. I cursed Naraku for seperating us, I cursed myself for falling for his tricks. If it wasn't for Naraku, Inuyasha and I would be together today. Inuyasha would be human and we would have died together. Rested in piece. That is why I am walking into through the woods toward his camp, just to see Inuyasha once more. He was the first one to see me, just as he was the first one to steal my heart.
"Kikyou!" He exclaimed, jumping down from the tree that he was resting in. He ran to meet me. I smile, as he sweeps me off my feet and swings me around. Then he slowly sets me back down. His arms leave the place that they had rested when he lifted me up, my waist. "Inuyasha." I say. 'My heart, my love, god how I missed you.' I think. He smiles at me. "How are you?" I ask. "Good. You look great." He says. I supress a cold laugh, as great as someone made of clay can I suppose. I smile, regardless of my inner feelings.
"You do too." I say. 'Not much about him has changed his so long ago.' I think. He hugs me. I slowly wrap my arms around him. He buries his head where my shoulder and neck meet. "Kikyou, I missed you." He says to me. I smile and hug him tighter. Suddenly he moves and I find myself flying through the air. Then we land, gently he sits me down. I look around startled. "I felt that we should get away." He says. I smile and open my arms, a welcoming, a invite. He runs to embrace me once again. I smile and laugh lightly. "Inuyasha." I start. He looks down at me. "I missed you too. You don't know how much." I whisper the ending, even though I know he can hear. He smiles at me. 'He's so close,' I realize, 'I could stand on my toes and be able to kiss his lips.' "Inuyasha.." I whisper. "Kikyou." He says in the same tone. I stand on my tip toes and my lips meet his. My eyes drift closed as his do. I feel him sigh against my lips. He responds only seconds later. I feel his arms tighten around my waist. After many minutes, we pulled apart. "I missed that as well." He says with a smile. I laugh and hug him tighter. I breathed in the scent that could only be Inuyasha.
I was right. I feel the comfort, love, and safety that I always longed for and felt when I was with him. "I love you.." I whisper to him. He pulled out of our embrace and looks at me. A blush colors his cheeks. "I love you too." He says, he leans down and claims my lips as his once again. This time I am the one to sigh. We pulled apart, "Always" he breathes. "It always has been and always will be. Kikyou, you're the only one for me." He tells me. I smile and move my arms around his neck then I pull him down to my lips. 'Always, Inuyasha. Always.' I think.
