A/N: just came to me last night. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: own nothing. Sorry.

Alexandria

Jasper spun, his feet stumbling shortly as his shoes scuffed the ground and then pacing across the DOUM Rooms' floor. His eyes were alight with a soft panic and traces of cold fear. "Maggie, what do we do?" he asked, his voice a hushed but fierce whisper in the near silence. "Henry's not here to help us with this crazy mystery solving stuff anymore! The team was perfect and with him gone, it's just screwed up!"

"Jasper..." came her feminine voice as she stared across the room at him from leaning against a table, arms folded tightly across her chest. She watched Jasper, worried for him and herself.

"We found an ancient scroll from the long lost library of Alexandria and now someone wants it back. And they have bodyguards. Do we have bodyguards? Not anymore! Not now that Henry's gone." He spun on his heels and paced in the other direction.

"That doesn't mean anything," said Maggie, feeling a tear wanting to prick at her the corners of her eyes because of her lost friend. "He left because he missed his parents and seeing the world. And it's not like we helped him a whole lot. The election shouldn't have been more important than our friendship with Henry. And each other."

"Little late to reflect, Mags." He shook his head turning and poising his hands on the table as he stared at her, expression fierce. "We lost Henry and now we need him back. Only we're not getting him back because he is now in freaking Mongolia." One of his fists banged down on the table, making the things on top of it violently shake and quake at his force. His expression twisted into a grimace of pain for a few short moments. "Maggie, he meant more to me than anyone in this entire world. He was like the brother I never had." Jasper stared down, trying not to let Maggie see how badly this was getting to him. He was falling apart at the seams without his cousin.

The room fell into a cold silence. Maggie quietly stood up fully from leaning on the table and made her way over to Jasper. "It's alright," she said, standing right beside him with one hand on his shoulder. "We'll be alright, Jasper."

He looked up at her, finding that tears were running down her porcelain cheeks, her eyes glittering with more of them as her lips quivered in sadness. "We can get through this together," she said again, her voice breaking this time. One of her hands flew to the table for support as she felt her knees wanting to give way so that she could just break down and cry her heart out on the cold cement of the DOUM Room floors. She couldn't hold herself up and did collapse to the ground.

Jasper caught her with one hand and managed to muster up the strength to pull her up again. As soon as she was standing, Maggie grabbed her friend and held onto him as if for dear life. "Don't ever leave, Jasper," she whimpered, her fists balled up in his dark shirt as her face buried itself in his warm chest. "I can't lose you too."

Quiet for a long moment, Jasper put his arms around the girl, embracing her in a tight hug. "Don't worry," he breathed as her tears stained his shirt. "I won't leave you, Maggie." He pulled her close to him, his head resting over her shoulder. "I promise."
