I sat down, only for a little, resting my elbows on the table and my face in my hands. I was so exhausted lately. I closed my eyes and concentrated on my breathing, only for a little.
"Can I help you?" I opened them to see a tiny waitress holding a tray with an extremely large smile on her face.
"No thanks, I'm fine." I grunted. The sidewalk was jammed with people, walking in every direction. I saw a couple of kids and smiled, they were so cute these days yet a hand full. I was missing mine, at home actually. Katie, I thought. I think I should be spending more time with her, maybe I can take her and John out for supper!

I immediately jumped into my car, and drove home. When I arrived I saw that no lights were on in the house, though it was broad daylight. I unlocked the door and stepped in, "Hello!" I was worried for a minute, maybe they were in the back. I put my bag down, and closed the door. I made my way to the kitchen and looked through the back window, nobody was there. I sighed, and noticed there was a note on the table.

Lucy,

Katie couldn't wait any longer for supper. So, I took her out to Boston Pizza. We had waited for you but you never came home, we figured you were having a bad day at work and was running late. Hope your not mad, I left you a TV dinner in the microwave.
Love, John.
