Dignity
Hayato panted, his quick steps on the hard concrete finally slowing down after he reached a dim tunnel. But unless in a plight like that one, there was no use of Formation B. (Which was just running away, but whatever.) Afterall, Kudo wasn't benign.
"Hah...hah...I'm tired—"
His phone sounded, and he immediately picked it up, recognizing the "Odagiri Ryu" on the caller ID.
"Hello? Ryu, what's wrong?"
"I'm sorry, but you're incorrect~"
"Huh?"
The voice on the other line was none other than Kudo.
"Sorry, but it's not Odagiri."
Hayato stopped. His eyebrows furrowed, and his voice turned dark. "Bastard...where's Ryu?"
"The underground storage area."
The dropout sounded proud of himself.
"If you don't hurry and come...we'll beat him up pretty good? Inside and out."
He laughed, and the line went dead.
Hayato's glare intensified, and he began to run again, ignoring the pain in his legs. Ryu was top priority right now.
"Ryu!"
He arrived at the underground storage in a huff. But no answer came back. He tried again.
"Ryu!"
Where was he?
It was a front of a stack of cardboard boxes toward the right that Ryu was slumped against. The other was breathing heavily as could be seen from the forced lifts of his chest, and the side of his lip was cut. Hayato couldn't spot any other injuries due to the darkness, but he severely doubted that that was all if Ryu looked this beaten up.
"Ryu...you okay?"
Hayato crouched down next his friend, praying for an answer.
Ryu panted a bit, and nodded his head slightly. His voiced cracked.
"I think...what happened to Kudo?"
"...I don't know, Ryu. I don't know."
The sound of a creaking falling noise made Hayato whip his head around. The garage, the only entrance or exit, was shutting.
"!"
Hayato grabbed Ryu by the arm, and helped him up. "Can you stand?"
Ryu didn't answer the question. He was in too much pain. Luckily, Hayato didn't wait for one, and began helping them toward the exit.
It was only a bit more—maybe if they could just roll under the—
"Fuck."
Hayato clenched his teeth tightly.
Ryu stayed silent, contemplating over what had happened. He bit his lower lip from keeping in any noise that would involuntarily sneak out.
Kudo's cruel smile.
It would become something that would forever haunt Ryu.
"What're we gonna do, Kudo?"
Kudo shut Ryu's phone and tossed it to the side carelessly.
"It'll take Yabuki at least a good ten minutes. Why not entertain ourselves?"
Ryu barely managed to stand up from his position. His lip was cut, his stomach quenched from the air-knocking-out kicks and punches, and his legs would barely carry his weight without quivering.
"Right, Odagiri?"
Kudo slammed a hand next to Ryu's face on the wall, startling the high schooler.
"G-go...fuck yourself..." Ryu stammered.
Kudo's right eye twitched. "Hm. Unfortunately, I have no intention of doing it to myself, Odagiri."
It had only taken a second for Ryu to be stripped of his clothing.
And it only took another for Ryu to scream bloody murder.
When Kudo had finished, the man had smirked and patted Ryu's head, as if to mockingly extol him.
It was only a minute before Hayato had arrived.
"Hayato."
"Hm?"
"Kudo...he..."
"What about him?"
Ryu had remembered clearly.
He should have said it.
But it was a man's dignity, as Odagiri Ryu.
He had never been so humiliated in his entire life.
"Nevermind...it's not important."
If it was to get back at Kudo, he would do it on his own.
This was his business.
And his alone.
A/N: ...all I can say is I hope you get what happened.
I got this idea while at school...from episode 3 of Gokusen 2. DX
