Green Tornado
Chapter 1
Maria walked happily walking along with a spring in her step and a song in her heart. Flowers covered the hill from bottom to top; the sweet scent of them filled her senses and made her want to skip. The sun shone down on her pale bruised face. It was heaven on earth .The sound of trickling of water could be heard, a stream flowing down the hillside, hitting rocks on its way down. The sight of it all made even her best dream seem like a nightmare.
She sat down. The ground felt soft to the touch, like feathers. This place is better than my house, she kept thinking. If only she had someone to share this with, but there was nobody here. Just her on this abandoned heath. All of her worries faded like a rainbow after a storm, leaving everything clear and quiet, messy maybe but clear nonetheless. She looked around, bright purple flowers covering everything, with bees hovering around them; small birds flew over her, Blue tits, King Fishers and Chaffinches, OH MY, she thought. This place seemed too good to be true. She lay down with her arms comforting her head and closed her eyes, trying to soak up the suns heat. When I die, I want to be buried here amongst the flowers, she dreamed. She felt as if the sun were heeling her wounds and melting her pains away.
Then suddenly out of nowhere, a man maybe in his sixty's or seventy's appeared, as if by magic. He towered over her looking down. Maria opened her eyes slowly. She saw he was holding a book which looked older than him; it had ruffled edges and pages spilling out of it, some kind of spell book? She wondered. Maria couldn't quite see his face as the sun was too bright, but she could tell he looked concerned for her.
"Are you ok kid?" he asked in a strange accent which she never heard before.
"Yeah, I'm fine I just got a bit lost, that's all" Maria repelled in a small half voice. The strange man offered her a hand and helped pull her to her feet.
"You look hungry" he said warmly "take my hand and I'll take you to a nice place I call home"
Maria remembered what her mother had once said stay away from strangers, but he seemed niceā¦
