A/N: Hey! This is another short Percabeth one-shot! Enjoy and review!!!
Disclaimer: I don't own PJO.
No One's POV
The young couple was down by the beach on the late Friday night. Instead of going to dinner and the campfire, Chiron had given them permission to escape to the beach and have time to themselves. The two were lying on a blanket wrapped up in each other's embrace. The young man had his arm around his girlfriend's waist and she rested her head on his chest. After finishing their dinner, they rested in silence and gazed at the stars up above. The young woman broke the silence, speaking her mind.
"Percy, don't you think it's weird that most couples usually start off as best friends?" He looked at her with a confused face.
"What are you talking about?" She rolled her eyes and elaborated for him.
"What I'm saying is that, look at us, before we got together we were best friends. There are bunches of couples who also start out as best friends, whether we're talking about real life or fictional. It's a bit cliché don't you think?" He pondered for a bit before responding.
"Annabeth, it is cliché, but starting out as friends is a great foundation for an even greater relationship. That way you know the person your with better than anyone has or ever will. Like with us, I know you and I can always tell if something is bothering you and you can do the same for me. We both know everything about each other, even though we only met six years ago. I know your past and you know mine; there aren't secrets between us. The best relationship is always between two people who know and love each other dearly," he closed his little speech. Annabeth was amazed at what her boyfriend said. Even though he could be a Seaweed brain at times, he never ceased to amaze her with these burst of knowledge and insights.
"That was very insightful, Seaweed Brain. It seems I have been rubbing off on you," she couldn't help, but chuckle a bit and he couldn't help, but laugh along with her.
"It's just that I've given a lot of thought about this when I was sorting out my feelings for you. Being the Seaweed Brain that I am, it took me awhile to figure it out," and Annabeth agreed.
"You're absolutely correct, for the first time," she commented and Percy sent a playful glare at her and they both laughed. The remainder of the night, why spent with each other enjoying each other's company.
Okay really short, but I came up with it at 11:00 in the night. I hope you enjoyed it and review!
