She dreams of a boy with blue eyes and of promises yet to be fulfilled.

Her mind is a blur, her thoughts tangled

As she stands on the beach, alone once again, she wonders just what went wrong

When did everything turn to dust, to ashes?

And how did she not notice the black spots on the horizon,

That one day, when everything disappeared

Perhaps if she truly had noticed, then things may have turned out differently.

She would have warned the others, and they would have left for safety,

Maybe if that had happened, they would still be with her today

And she would not be alone, blaming herself.

Maybe.

She thinks of their hands, connected as one as everything they had ever known,

Both came back and fell apart,

As the world split in two and they truly were separated.

Him to save the worlds, and her to return home

But that was before she realised that her true home was about to leave her for good,

Leaving only a hopeful misguided promise of return.

Thinking about it, she hates herself.

Why did she not just jump across the divide?

She was young, she could have easily made it, right?

But then she thinks about how she only would have been a burden to him,

It would have been selfish for her to put the responsibility of herself upon him.

For, even if she didn't want to admit it, she would have needed protecting.

She is one of the seven after all.

In these times of unease, she is forced to think of the joy in his eyes as he held in his hands her love and her luck.

And then she truly smiles, for she knows he's coming back. He did promise after all.

As the tide washes away, so do her tears, and so does her thoughts.
