Disclaimer: …Don't fucking own. bawls eyes out.
Note: I know that in my stories it prob seems I hate Michelle, that's not exactly true. I don't mind her (I hate Anwar), I just think that Maxxie/Tony fics have more drama when she's being a bitch.
They all have their own ways of dealing with things. They all have their own poker faces to hide behind, rarely letting people see behind the mask, and never showing their hands.
Chris is the most obvious. When things just become too much, he numbs himself. He takes all the pills he can get his hands on, just to numb himself from the pain and confusion for a while.
Cassie starves herself. To show that she is in control, that she can do things herself. She doesn't eat and often ends up in hospital, but it's her choice. She's in charge. And she can feel powerful.
Jal's way is a bit less destructive. The clarinet is her release. She can express herself through music. She can play as many wrong notes as she wants, can try as hard as possible, can just sit there and know that the clarinet will never walk away.
Anwar hides behind his religion. For everything he doesn't understand and doesn't like, he can cover by using his religion as a guise. Because when it's his religion, it's not really his choice and he can get by without feeling guilty.
Sid doesn't deal. He obsesses, ignores or tries to cover his pain. He's too hurt and too fucking confused (like all of them), but he hasn't yet found that proper outlet.
Michelle's way is simple. She uses people. She yells, and bitches, and hurts people who have hurt her. And sex. She sleeps with random's who don't know her, who couldn't care less about what's going on in her life. Because they'll never ask or worry or try and get her to face up to the truth. And when she's with someone she doesn't know, she can be anyone she wants.
One of Tony's ways is very similar, actually basically the same. And he uses sex with random girls to prove that he doesn't need anyone, he doesn't love anyone. Thankfully he also has another way, he sings. His singing allows him to get his true feelings out there without admitting to them.
Maxxie's way is another of the non-destructive ones. He dances, and draws, he acts and sings. When he's on stage, performing, he can be that character and forget who he really is. When he's on stage with all eyes on him and the light beaming down, he feels comfortable, because he knows that he can have their attention and not hurt anyone, not be scrutinized as himself. He draws things he can't voice, pencils out his dreams and fears. And on paper they're not so frightening. But dance has become his main form of dealing. He dances how he feels. To him, dancing is the thing that makes the most sense in the whole world. Its simple; its how he wants; its freedom.
