Dichotomy of the Heart
by Purpleyin (original poem copyright 2001)

A tear, rolling down a chilled cheek
One of the first shed and hoping not to be the last
But the end chases me once more,
Never ceasing to my conclusion
Dismissal from the final stage
And I am not ready
Foolish to think I ever was
Red heart crying a warm shriek of a dying mind
Blood still flows through and through persisting in spite of everything
As it freezes gently in harsh waters
Last words, were they heard?
My last words, a plea to the world
My appeal to my world, him
Did he understand, remember?
Will he, remember, survive?
Voice must have told him the truth even if truth was lost
The truth, blending all the blood, tears into love
