Dearest Britain,
Honestly, this has gone on long enough. It most terribly pains me to say this, but we are over. At the beginning, our love was strong. I was proud to be British, swore my allegiance to the king. But over time, our values have changed. I have changed. I allowed you reasonable control like placing the Currency Acts of 1751, I mean that was tolerable, but you crossed the line with the intolerable acts. I know, I know, the French and Indian war cost you on your part, and you really needed the money to pay it off, but no taxation without representation! I am just really tired of this one sided love.
I tried to show you by dumping your precious tea in Boston harbor 1774. Which is exactly what I'm doing to you; the dumping part. I guess we won't be having any tea parties anytime soon.
It's not you, it's me. We want our freedom more than your love,
America
