It doesn't matter what you are, it only matters what people think you are

It doesn't matter what you are, it only matters what people think you are. She could hear it over and over again. It was only hours ago the sentence had fallen over Logan's lips and she hated it. Mostly because it sounded so… true. Like she had been stabbed by one single sentence by the man she had fallen in love with. He hadn't meant it. She hadn't meant to argue with him either. It was just one of those in the heat things, right?

She needed to be on her own, time to analyze things over or was it called to think? What you want is, however, not always what you get. Max wasn't to sure, transgenic or not, how she ended up – moping it might be added – at Crash, when all she waned was to speed of with her motorcycle, her baby and just leave her thoughts behind, for a while anyway.

Her friends on the other hand wasn't about to agree about that being a good idea and did occasionally try to cheer her up. Sketchy tried some purely idiotic stunts and let's just say he went down pretty hard, Herbal on the other hand dropped a few words of wisdom and they got it, mostly anyway, and Alec… well Alec was kind of to occupied by a blond beauty he referred to as Jennifer but at a second though wasn't Original Cindy sure if it was Jenny or Janet. Either way so was it a shame to waste a girl on that on a male, Alec non the less. What she on the other hand had enough of was Maxs low face and she was going to do something about it even if she wasn't so clear about what.

The opportunity showed itself as Max decide that it was her time to get a another pitcher of beer. Original Cindy agreed with her conscience, someone should go with Max and help her carry the beer. Maybe that was a lame excuse but it was as good as any.
"So what's buggin'?" she asked more then sure that Max knew what she was talking about.
"I don't wanna talk about it" replied Max honesty. Nop, she just waned to forget about it all. Drown it all in beer if necessary, a lot of beer.

"It's Logan then" came the simple statement from Cindy.
"How'd you figured?" wondered Max who still would prefer some alone time.
"Lately he'd seems to drag out all those sad faces of yours in the opened. What happened this time?"

"Just something he said" admitted she at last, still restive.
"U'know dat.." did she start just to give Max a few words of wisdom herself but a beeping sound cut her of.
"Logan" stated Max after a quick glance.
"You gonna take it?"
"Yeah…" answered Max slowly.
"What ever you do girl, you're still my boo" said Original Cindy, hoping her message really would reach her home girl even if the phrase was somewhat well used lately.

"I know" said Max and gave her friend a small smile before she left to call Logan.

She knew the number by heart, she was good with number, as simple as that and it didn't take long before Logan picked up the phone.

"Yeah?" was the simple answer she got.
"This better be an apologize" She didn't even bother with a greeting.

"It's not but I will if that's what I have to. I need you to pick up something for me."
"Why don't you ask.. let's say Asha?"

"She's busy I guess. She wouldn't answer my calls."

"Smart girl."

"Look, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it that way. What people might think about you and your kind.. It's not like it can't be change, maybe with some time…"
"Save it" Okey, maybe she still was pissed in some way.

"So you gonna take it?"

"Where did you say the pick up was?"

"Sector nine by the harbour. You gonna be okay?"

"Yeah, I'm gonna be fine" she answered and hanged up on him. Yeah, she was going to be okay, she was going to be better then that. It was just who she was, the way she been made.
