Unwanted
Waking up to the annoying and persisting beep of her alar, Clary, dragged her body, still full of sleep, and got ready for the long day ahead. Pulling on a t-shirt and jeans, she grabbed an oversized sweatshirt, pulled on her combat boots and walked downstairs. Her mom, Jocelyn stood at the stove, cooking.
"Clary, did you finish that project?"
"No, I didn't, I decided to fail my science class and go to summer school" Clary sarcastically answered.
"Young Lady Don't you dare talk to me like that, you bastard child," Jocelyn responded, "you know I only have to take care of you till you're 18, then you're on your own."
"Like I want you there for the rest of my life, constantly patrolling me." She muttered back. Clary, deciding to leave the memory scarring house, jumped in her car and drove to school. Her mom's relationship was a rocky one; Clary used to remember the less worried version of her mom, carrying the eight year Clary to bed, tucking her in, reading her bedtime stories.
Now it was all gone.
Years of constant worrying aged Jocelyn; Clary remembered the first argument she had with her mom, which ended up with Clary receiving a huge slap across the face. After that, She didn't care anymore, her grades were all A's only for the pesky B in science which her mom still yells at her for. Her mom didn't care for Clary anymore only giving her the sufficient amount of food and buying her the necessary items needed for everyday life.
Clary couldn't wait for her 18th birthday, which was in six months. She couldn't wait to leave the house forever, leaving her, dad, dog, mom, and brother.
