Marisa

A/N: Oooh...this is a weird one...not sad, (okay, maybe a little) but certainly a twist. Yes, I know the name sounds sad. Why is it some weird rule of romances that half of them have to have a name as the title? It makes everything else sound sad. Of course, these 50% usually share the same basic plot line; someone gets sick or injured, they start dying, lover mourns, person dies. Nice the first few times around, but after that? But I rest my case. This picks up right after the movie ends; enjoy.

"Kitty!" the little girl shrieked.

Mike grinned up at his friend. It was perfect. And then the bubble of complete perfection was broken. It was broken by a sleepy young woman leaning against Boo's wall. She stared, amused, disbelieving, happy.

"Mike Wazowski." she said. Sully looked at her for the first time. It was the perfect image of Boo, 20 years older than when they'd met.

Of course, thought Mike. Time is supposed to work differently here. Maybe 5 minutes for us is 5 years here. Or the other way around, sometimes. Or in this case, 2 months into 20 years.

"I didn't ever tell you my real name, did I? It's Marisa. Marisa Ferris."

Sully stood there. He couldn't believe it. No longer a four year old girl, a young woman just entering medical school. It was too much for him. He turned towards the door. Mike sort of smiled at Marisa, and then ran towards his stunned friend just as he walked through the closet.

"Why'd ya do that?" Mike asked incredulously.

"It was too much for me. Boo...Marisa...20 years."

"Well, she has a daughter. Or a niece, or whoever that girl is."

Sully didn't respond, just kept walking towards the main area of the factory.

"Sully. Stop. You're never going to forgive yourself if you keep walking." Sully slowed, but didn't halt.

"Is Liese going to start the same panic? She keeps trying to get away from me."

Sully turned around. Smiled at Marisa for the first time.

"No Boo. Let's get dinner."
