Caroline Forbes was sitting on a very comfortable chair in the plane, and was enjoying her flight in the first class. She really had no idea how long this flight could take. To be honest, she always was interested in visiting other places of the world. Recently she has traveled a lot of countries, but she has never observed her native country in details. On her 18th birthday, Liz, Her mother, gave her a one way ticket to New Orleans. Caroline was surprised, because she never thought of travelling there. New Orleans was really a beautiful city, filled with music, art, and genuine beauty. Caroline was really surprised and frustrated at the same time, because her heart was nervous about all these. But she thought that it was okay with all these happening around her. She had a really tough life for 18 years old girl. Caroline was sweet, tender, smart, full of light, caring, loving, educated, but she has never experienced real love. There were a lot of great things about her, but her best part has not been investigated yet by anyone.
Suddenly, Caroline's thoughts were interrupted by a flight attendant.
-"dear passengers, our plane is getting close to the airport of New Orleans. I wish you the soft setting. Thanks for using our airlines."
Caroline walked out of the airport and smelled that air. It was her favorite moment about being abroad or in a different place. Smelling the different air and feeling something unusual about it. She took a deep breath and started walking around. Her hotel was on the Bourbon Street, one of the most famous ones in New Orleans. It was evening already. She unpacked her luggage, and sat on a beautiful couch and took a deep breath. She was hearing the sound of a beautiful melody which was playing outside, she decided to look up for it and from where it was going straight to her heart and ears. She looked out of the window, but she couldn't see anything so she took a walk to the balcony, and was hoping to see an amazing portrait of a young handsome boy playing the guitar, but her hopes were set up too high. Actually it was a radio playing on the outside, but it was so realistic she nearly thought it was someone playing the guitar in reality.
She took her bag, and started looking for her notebook.
"Oh there it is. I nearly thought that I've lost it. Thanks god I found it. So, where is my list?!" She was looking for her planned list of the activities she would do while being in New Orleans, so she fondly stared at her notebook's page filled with different words, written with blue ink. She wanted to try so much there, but she did not know where to start from.
"Oh, I am so tired. I will probably do it tomorrow because my head is about to explode." – She thought. She sat on the bed and took off her shoes, put on a skinny t-shirt and cuddled up in a blanket.
Sun rose at 6:37.
Caroline felt a soft breeze on her shoulders; she stood up and closed the door of the balcony.
Sun was getting brighter and brighter and her blue eyes were getting filled with the rays of the warm autumn sun.
It was too early, though she did not pay attention to it. She took a bath, dressed up, remembering her last breathtaking trip to Rome, smiling widely she put her soft make up on and went out from this big hotel. She was walking down the streets, looking on the faces of the people which walked the same way, and she was just happy. Caroline looked up for the first thing she had to do there. But she was really tired with this activity and she already has done this like a million times but this one was really irritating her. I mean - The souvenirs. Caroline had to buy them, of course. There was no other way. Caroline stepped into a big room in the middle of the street which she was observing for last two hours. She gently pushed the door and walked into the Souvenir store. Okay that was not pretty much of what she expected. It was a large room and every inch of this room was filled with different, colorful, beautiful, funny souvenirs. She really enjoyed looking up for them. This time was not as irritating as she thought and expected. She picked 10-15 things from the shelves and confidently walked to the seller who was waiting for her at the storehouse. She interspersed the souvenirs from her hands but one of them just slipped from the table and fell on the floor. She tilted to pick it up but it looked like someone has already done it.
-"what the… ?"
-"I am sorry miss. It looks like I noticed it earlier. "
Said a stranger who stood just right beside Caroline.
-yes, thank you.
-you are very much appreciated and oh, welcome to New Orleans.
-wait, how do you know that?
-well I'd say I was following you and I am a crazy stalker boy who is looking for those beautiful girls outside, but you just left the airport label on your bag. So that's why I thought maybe you are a newcomer.
-"yes, right, I am sorry. I did not mean to seem as a crazy interviewer. I am Caroline.
-Klaus. Klaus Mikaelson. It is very nice to meet you Caroline.
But who knew, that the 1000 years old hybrid was observing her from the corner of the store for last 15 minutes, thinking of how beautiful this stranger girl was and how he hesitated to talk to her. Yes, you heard it right. He was a 1000 years old vampire werewolf mix who has lived his last 50 years in this city. But don't freak out, at this time he really enjoyed talking with this girl. Like other ones would have been eaten by him already.
-Yeah, for me too. - She answered quickly, in a blink of an eye. Like she already knew what Klaus was going to say to her. He stared right into her eyes fondly thinking of how bright her soul was. Just to be clear, he has not seen that kind of soul for decades. The last years he met plenty of girls, but no one has touched him in other way no one touched his soul which was so tender. No one knew the real him. He only had a few friends, Marcel, whom he raised as a brother to him, and Camille. Who has been his therapist for last 1,5 years. She was really a good girl. She enjoyed talking with Klaus as he was enjoying talking with her. He understood her, he was inspired by her, but not in "that" way. He was interested in how much Camille had done in her short life, thinking of how hard her life was. She coped with everything going on around her, but she found a way out and found a perfect person for herself. She was Marcel's girlfriend, and Klaus was happy because of them, because they were happy. But let's not forget that Klaus Mikaelson was not one of those sweet boys of our decade. He was 1000 years old hybrid who has seen a lot of in his life. He was a villain. A real villain who had killed a lot of people maybe innocent ones too. He had millions of his cells wanting to be better than this, but still he enjoyed it. He enjoyed being strong, fearless, ageless. He wanted to be better but he was okay with the fact that his life was set to be so.
Caroline was frustrated. He was intimidating. She has never really been so nervous while being with a guy. But this one was so, so special. He made her cheeks flush and her heart pump a bit faster than usual, but she did not really notice it. But it does not mean that this experienced vampire did not notice it either. He felt it, her nervousness, her hesitation, her fast pulse. He did not know her but he knew her at the same time. He was sure that it was her. The love of his life;
-May I take the lead and make you know this place better?
-Oh, no..It's okay. I don't want to bother you.
-I dare you, request you, and ask you fondly to let me familiarize you with this place.
-Oh okay. Your request seems so…
-So pressing?
- Well yes. She smiled widely.
-that's because I am trying to be nice and …
-and impressive.
-Is it a surprise for you?
-No. Considering your attitude, I really think that it's okay.
-So Caroline. What is going to be your next step here?
-Um…I don't know for sure. I wanted to buy the Souvenirs and I bought them but now… Um… do you know any of the boutiques here? I know it's very girly of me but I really can't leave this place without shopping and buying a beautiful dress for my mother and maybe one for myself too.
-So, Caroline, shall we?
-Yes, I guess. She gazed at him and smiled.
Klaus was satisfied. He has not been satisfied with anything in his life recently, but in that moment -he was. And he felt it so strongly, somewhere deep inside.
They walked out of the store slowly, smiling at each other. They both were silent but it was okay because it seemed that there were no words needed. They understood each other. They did not really care about what was happening around them for that moment, they just forgot it, forgot everyone.
