1rst Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye was not in a good mood because she was not able to locate her no longer-superior officer. Said officer had agreed, no insisted, that they meet every once and awhile (to make sure she could still come to meet him) and yet the Colonel was nowhere to be found. This was because Colonel Roy Mustang was currently conversing with a man in a dress.

Colonel Roy Mustang had merely gone to visit his deceased friend's grave when the strange old woman (man) approached him. He had barely begun to turn on the well-rehearsed Mustang charm (she was a lady after all, it was only polite) when he realized that this woman was certainly not what she seemed to be. This woman was, in fact, none other than Brigadier General Grumman. In a dress. After spluttering considerably, Colonel Roy Mustang's calm yet brooding façade was back in place. It was here where Riza found him.

She had gone to his grave, figuring the only reason her Colonel (not her Colonel, she half-heartedly reprimanded) had not found her was because of his desire to visit his friend. And there he was with—good lord, was that her grandmother's dress? This was a new development, as her grandmother had died many years ago, unless…Riza fought hard not to chuckle. She could not say she was entirely surprised, though seeing the old lump of a dress out of a closet and on her grandfather was quite the sight indeed. The conversation between the Colonel and the General must have ended quickly though, as the Lieutenant was still trying to school her features into a neutral expression when Roy began to make his way towards her.

"You found me," he said.

"I did, sir," she said.

"You must be wondering about the old woman," Roy was smirking slightly now, "you see—"

She cut him off, "it was Brigadier General Grumman. Am I correct, sir?"

Roy stared at her, "But how did—"

"That was my grandmother's dress, sir."

Roy was silent, and Riza was sure that had she been looking at him (don't look, don't look) she would have seen his eyes widen slightly, brain struggling to put two and two together.

"So," he said finally, and there was a certain choked quality to his voice now, "General Grumman is your—"

"Grandfather, sir, yes."

They said no more on the subject.

Brigadier General Grumman was rather surprised to hear Roy Mustang's voice come out of the phone only a day after he had spoken with him.

"Brigadier General Grumman," he had answered.

"Colonel Roy Mustang speaking, sir."

"Yes Colonel, go ahead. What is it?"

There was a slight pause, then, "I have reconsidered your offer, sir."

General Grumman was mildly intrigued now, "Oh? And what offer was that?"

Another pause then, "I will gladly marry your granddaughter, sir."

Brigadier General Grumman was in a very good mood.
