Hello and welcome to my newest story. Now for those of you who read my other stories, don't worry I am working on them and will post a new chapter...eventually...I am lazy...and procrastinate a lot...but there is also school. Anyways this is another random story idea I came up with and my good friend Holden Skyler helped me out with writing some of it.
Alright, I have nothing more to say so now enjoy the story.
Ch.1 Prologue
In a seemingly normal world, it was summer time. The weather was warm and everyone was enjoying it. On a certain evening, the night was cool and the sky was covered in dark grey clouds, making it hard to see. On this evening, young boy, about the age of seven, snuck out of his house and headed towards the lake just near his house. He always liked the water and was always interested about the creatures that lived in the water. He was hoping to find some frogs or toads tonight, but as he approached the lake he saw a figure sitting down in front of the water. It was hard to see because there was no moonlight that night and the clouds covered the sky. But as the boy approached he saw it looked like a girl about his age. She was running her hands back and forth through the water. The boy had never seen her before.
"Um...excuse me," He said to her.
She turned around and looked at him. It was hard to see what she looked like but even in the darkness of the night he noticed her eyes were big, wide, and full of curiosity. She tilted her head and looked at him.
"I haven't seen you around here before, are you new in the area?" He asked and the girl smiled and nodded her head. "Well it's nice to meet you. My name is Myde," he said as he sat down in front of her and held out his hand.
The girl looked at him then at his hand before placing her hand in his. She didn't shake his hand, she just held it and looked curiously at the boy called Myde. Myde just looked back at her, she seemed a bit odd, but also nice. He looked at their hands. Her hand was wet and cold from being in the water, but it also felt warm, and tingly.
Myde didn't quite know how to describe it, but he knew it was something, he just hadn't figured out what it was. He wouldn't think about it and wouldn't realize the importance of it for years. After a minute the girl let go of Myde's hand and smiled at him again.
"So, what's your name?" He asked.
She continued to smile and she opened her mouth to speak, but just before she could say anything, a voice rang into the night, "Myde! You better get back in the house now, otherwise you'll be in big trouble!"
Myde turned around and shouted in the direction of his house, "Alright mom! I'll be right there!
He sighed and started to turn around, "So, you were going to tell me your name?" He said as he turned around to face the girl but when he did, no one was there. He looked all around, there was no sign of her. He didn't hear here get up and run off or anything, the only thing he saw was a few ripples in the water.
"I couldn't have imagined her….could I? Myde thought to himself. Then he looked at hand, the hand that the girl held. He still felt the water and that odd tingly feeling. She had to be real, but where had she gone? Myde slowly got up, looking around once more before running back to his house.
After that Myde would look out his window each night, but he never saw the girl by the lake again. He never saw her at all. He had searched all around the lake and the forest nearby, but never found her. Soon he forgot all about her and went on with his life, but little did he know that his life had been forever changed. All because that girl held his hand. Even though it was only for a short bit, it would make a major impact on Myde's life. Though he would have to figure that out himself.
Years passed and at one point Myde lost his heart and became a Nobody. He then had joined Organization XIII. His named had been changed from Myde to Demyx, for a reason Demyx never could really figure out. He was the 9th member it was discovered that his power was over water, and since he liked to play his sitar he got the alias The Melodious Nocturne.
Demyx had been with the Organization for several years now, and a few other members had joined after him. Unlike the other members, he mainly liked to relax and play his sitar. He didn't like to do any work or fighting. But when he had to go out and do work, he did… for the most part. Sometimes he was just lazy and didn't do his mission. But of course that lead to him being yelled at by the second in command; Saix.
One night, while Demyx was strumming his sitar, he starting thinking about everything that had happened since he became a Nobody. His thoughts then drifted over to why he controlled water.
"Why water?" He had thought to himself many times since discovering his powers. He couldn't seem to figure it out, but he didn't give it much thought to begin with. He soon stopped thinking about it and continued strumming his sitar.
The next morning he got up and walked into the Grey Room and sat down on one of the couches and started to play his sitar. Saix, who was standing in the middle of the room, walked over to him.
"You have a recon mission for today," he said emotionlessly.
"Can't someone else go?"
"No. Everyone else has left for their own missions."
"Fine... I'll go," he said as he stood up.
Saïx handed him a piece of paper which contained information on the world he was assigned to explore. Demyx read the name of the world a few times to make sure he was reading it right. The name was familiar. He knew the name. It was the name of the world he came from. With a deep breath, Demyx summoned a dark corridor and stepped through it.
Demyx exited out of the corridor and ended up in a forest. The forest was very familiar to Demyx. He remembered it from his childhood. He knew that nearby was the summer house that his family would go to every summer when he was young. Memories from so long ago came flooding back.
He sighed and started to walk through the forest looking around for anything out of the ordinary. He came out of the forest into a clearing, and not just any old clearing. The clearing was next to a lake, and just a bit up a small hill, away from the lake was the house Demyx had gone to with his family each summer. He stared at it for some time before walking towards it. It looked old, like it hasn't been used for years. Demyx looked down and sigh, he missed coming to that house every summer and playing in the lake.
He then shook his head, "Come on, I gotta get back on track." He turned around and faced the lake and noticed something he hadn't noticed before.
A few feet out into the water there was a large flat rock. Sleeping the rock was a odd-looking person. She had pale light blue skin, and blue hair that was spiked downwards. The top half of her hair was a sky blue and the bottom half was a darker blue. Around her head was a headpiece of blue pearls strung together by crabgrass. She wore a teal dress that had light blue lace trim on it and dark blue straps. The dress went down to her knees. The teal sleeves of the dress started at her biceps and went down to her elbows. She also had on a dark blue choker with light blue trim around it. Other than the dress and necklace she didn't have anything else. No shoes or socks. Just two barefoot feet.
Demyx walked closer to the water's edge. He didn't understand, but he felt like he had to get her attention. "Hey... Miss.." He called out.
The girl on the rock moved a little and slowly sat up, rubbing hers eyes. She yawns and faced Demyx and looked at him. At that moment Demyx felt like he had seen her before. There was something about her big, wide, curious, dark teal eyes that felt familiar to Demyx. But he couldn't remember why.
She looked at him and blinked a few times, "Yes?" she asked in a soft and sweet sounding voice.
"D-do I know you? You seem familiar in a way..."
The girl put her feet into the water and walked over to Demyx, she walked right up to him, tilted her head and looked at him. "Maybe…" She said as she thought about it. "I am not sure…"
Suddenly several Shadow Heartless appeared around them, ready to attack. The girl gasped and backed away from the Heartless. Demyx summoned his sitar. It formed from water in his hands.
"Dance water dance!" He strummed his sitar and several water clones appeared and started taking out the Heartless.
The girl watched this happen as her eyes filled with excitement and curiosity. "It couldn't be him...could it?" she thought to herself.
