"Hey Lucy!" Natsu climbed over the window sill, struggling for a moment before he fell over the side and landed roughly on the ground.

"Hi Natsu! Uhh, why're you in my house at two in the morning?" She looked at him skeptically. Yeah, he came in through the window a lot, and yeah, he was here at her house a lot in general, but that was usually during daylight hours.

"I was passing and I saw the light on."

That... doesn't answer the question, Natsu.

"Soooo... Why're you here?"

"Hm, I think I might be gettin' sick or something." Surprise flicked across her face.

"What? But I thought dragon slayers don't get sick!"

"You're right, we don't. But I feel really weird." He was looking at her sheepishly, as if she was expecting her to hit him or something.

"'Really weird' how?"

"I feel kinda... hot." That in itself was concerning. A fire dragon slayer felt hot?

"Wow. You? Do you know why?"

A grin split his face. "Yeah I know, because your smile melts my heart!"

Lucy blushed in spite of herself, wondering why on earth Natsu had told her he thought he was sick. It's not really the best pick-up line in the world. But oh well. Let him believe he'd pulled this conversation off smoothly.
