The silence of the night
is broken by the sound
of tears hitting the floor
and quiet sobs
The eyes that see so blindly
and ears that hear no sound
the darkness of the night
the senses robs
And deep within the shadows
a lake of dreams lies liefless
beside the edge of water
a rowboat bobs
Alone in the emptyness
the siren sings his requiem
on ground laid bare by footfalls
of angry mobs
His death gives birth to silence
the trapdoors all shut tightly
they will open for no others
for they are loyal knobs.
