A/N Just a heads up, but the second part will simply be the same story from John's point of view. I hope you enjoy, and remember that reviewing only takes a moment and it may inspire me to update sooner! :)
A smile played upon Molly Hooper's lips. She wasn't doing anything special, just shopping for groceries, but her mind was elsewhere. Ever since she helped Sherlock fake his suicide three months ago, she was his only link to the life he had temporarily left behind. He would confide in her, how finding (and killing, she suspected, but he'd never admit his plans for murder) those Moriarty had hired to kill his other three friends was proving more difficult than he'd thought, or how hard it was for him to stay away from John. She worried about him, but all the same she felt that maybe, just maybe Sherlock was beginning to feel the same way.
Standing there in the middle of the aisle with a silly grin on her face as she stared at the different breakfast cereals, she failed to notice the man coming towards her with his own, small cart until he'd said her name twice.
"Molly? How are you?" asked the man she'd so often seen in Sherlock's company.
"Oh, oh I'm alright," she responded, wiping the stupid smile off her face and looking him over. He was leaning against a cane and watching her with a certain amount of curiosity. He seemed to be wondering why in the world anyone could still have a smile on their face. She put on a face of concern, "How have you been lately?"
"Obviously not as well as you," John Watson replied, offering her a half smile and a sigh, staring blankly at some box of cereal for a minute before confessing, "I just miss him, you know?"
Molly nodded slowly, seeing how pained he was without Sherlock and feeling guilty that she alone knew he was alive. "Yeah," she responded, looking at the ground and then back up at him, tears springing to her eyes at the thought of how he must feel, "I miss him too."
Once she'd arrived back at her apartment and put away the milk, she grabbed the mobile she'd accidentally left on the counter and texted, "So I saw a friend of yours today… -MH"
